Announcing the Relaunch of IJAZA COURSES – Feb 2011

Course 1: Tajweed Qur'an (Beginners & Intermediate)
Teacher: Sheikh Ahmed al-Fayturi (Libyan);

He was the former Imam of Al-Muntada Al Islami (London) and a founder of the Quran Centre in al-Muntada. Sheikh Ahmed has studied tajweed and its sciences extensively and has ijaza’s in a number of different recitations including Hafs an-Aasim, Ibn Kathir, Qaloon and Warsh. His studies have taken him all across the Muslim world and he has one of the shortest sanaads in Hafs an-Aasim from Sheikh Hasanayn in Egypt. He is haafidh of the Qur’an, as well as the famous Tajweed text al-Jazariyah. The Sheikh has permission to give Ijaza and Sanad to students in the different recitations as well as in al-Jazariyah.

Course 2: Sharh Imam Nawawi’s 40 Hadith
Teacher: Sheikh Ali Al Khalfa’oui al-Jaza’iri (Algerian).

Sh Ali graduated from Madeenah Islamic University (K.S.A) with a B.A. Hons in Usul Al Deen. Following this he studied for a number of years under different shuyooh including the world renowned noble Shuyukh Mukhtaar Al Shanqiti and Nasr Al Aql. He has Ijazah to teach Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Nukhbatul Fikr, Aqeedah Wasatiyyah and Aqeedah Tahawiyyah amongst many other works. He also has one of the shortest chains through Sheikh Ahmed Surati for al-Muwatta li-Imaam Maalik. He was recently the chief reader for the Maqraa organised by Al-Buruj Press in December 201 He specialises in Uloom Al Hadeeth and Aqeedah.

Course 3: Sharh Ibn Taymiyya’s Aqeedah al-Waastiyah
Teacher: Sheikh Ali Al Khalfa’oui al-Jaza’iri (Algerian).

Course 4: Hanafi Fiqh of Tahara & Salah (al-Hidayah)
Teacher: Sheikh Abdul Hadi Arwani (Syrian)

The Sheikh graduated with a B.A. Hons from the Faculty of Shariah in Jordan and specialises in the field of Quran, Usool Al Fiqh and Fiqh. He is a specialist in Hanafi Fiqh and has taught Al Ikhtiyaar and Nur Al Idah over the last 3 years in concentrated study circles based in Slough and West London. The Ustadh is currently the Imam of Masjid Al Noor in Acton and teaches extensively on Shariah degree programme at other institutes. In recent years he has taught Ibn Hajr’s Buloogh Al Maram (the attainment of the objective according to the ordinances of the shariah), Sahih Bukhari and Uloom Al Qu’ran.

Course 5: Maqasid Al-Shari’ah from ash-Shaatibi
Teacher: Sheikh Abdul Rahman Zaidi (Algerian origin)

Sheikh Zaidi graduated with a BA (Hons) in Shariah from Algeria and continued his studies completing an MA in Maqasid and is currently preparing his Ph.D at Al-Azhar (Egypt). He is currently a khateeb at Al Muntada Al Islami London and Head of the Islamic Studies degree programme at EAIS. His book on the subject of Al Ijtihaad (juristic exertion) has acquired critical acclaim from contemporary scholars and academics and is listed as a ‘must-read’ book in all main encyclopaedias related to Maqasid Al Shariah (the higher objectives of Islamic law). The sheikh specialises in the teaching of Bidayatul Mujtahid (the starting point for a Mujtahid) by Ibn Rushd;

Course 6: Arabic Language Madinah Book 1 (Brothers)
Teacher: Sheikh Mohammad Sbini (syrian origin)

The Sheikh was born in 1967 in Damascus (Syria). He studied Shariah under Sheikh Ahmad Keftaro for about 15 years, at the Shariah Institute for Dawah and Guidance (Abu An-Noor). After he graduated he continued his education in The International Faculty for Dawah (Damascus). He came to England in 1992 and has been involved in different Islamic activities and taught several different Islamic subjects such as Arabic, Usul Al-Fiqh, Shafe’e Fiqh, Aqeedah, and Seerah at different Islamic institutes.

Course 7: Arabic Language Madinah Book 1 (Sisters)
Teacher: Ustadha Maream Assaf (Syrian)

Ustadha Maream was born in Damascus, Syria and was taught traditional Islam at the hands of her mother Ustadha Umm Muhammad ‘Alouni (Graduate of Shari’ah, University of Damascus). She studied Shafi’ie Fiqh (Kitaab Fiqh al-Ibadaa’at ala Madhab ash-Shafi’ie) under Ustadha al-Hajaa al-Khuloud (Doctor of Fiqh, University of Damascus). She has memorised the Qur’an in its entirety and has studied Sharh Jazariya from an Egyptian Sheikh. She is currently preparing an Ijazah in the Qira’ah of Hafs An-Aasim. She has been living in the United Kingdom for over 8 years and has continued her Islamic studies completing a Certificate in Islamic Studies from the London Open College.
