After all the bad media coverage we hear about Mosques from all over the place it is good to see this. But then you got to ask the question, how did this case get to the court? Who was it that was pushing to have this Mosque prosecuted? And what was their agenda?

A Qur’an teacher at a Mosque in northern England has successfully fought accusations that he brutalised pupils under his care.

Bolton-based Sohail Musa, 21, was charged in April 2010 with physically attacking two of his pupils at the Zakariyya Mosque, on Peace Street, who were struggling to memorise verses from the Qur’an.

The Court heard testimony from the two 13-year old alleged victims, via video-link, that Musa had “punched and slapped” pupils he was teaching.

One of the witnesses said Musa had “twisted his arm and punched him near his kidneys" as punishment for inaccurately reciting the Qur’an. The second witness said he got "12 hits on the head" for making mistakes.

However, presiding District Judge Paul Richardson said he wasn’t satisfied the accusations had been proved by the prosecution beyond reasonable doubt...
