Subhan'Allah beautiful pictures thank you for sharing.

Each and every picture tells a story. I always think 'What stories the mountains of Mecca could tell us, if they could speak?'

you reminded me of this Nasheed:

Oh Mountains of Mecca, what can you say
Of the day that Abraham passed your way
And He was instructed by God to build
A House of peace where people will pray

And they will come on every lean camel and out of every ravine
For the purpose of praising Allah, to glorify Allah

Oh Mountains of Mecca, what can you tell
Of the day when stones from the sky fell
Destroying an army determined to break
The House of Allah that Abraham built

Oh Mountains of Mecca, how was the dawn
On the day that my Prophet Muhammad was born
How did it feel knowing he was to be, the last and most beloved of all
Rasul of Allah, Nabi of Allah

Oh Mountains of Mecca, you were there
When the Prophet Muhammad climbed down in despair
Engraved in his heart were the words of his Lord
To all of mankind this was his call

La illaha illAllah, Muhammad-u-Rasullullah
Oh people praise only Allah, Glorify Allah

Oh Mountains of Mecca, how did you mourn
On the day that the beloved returned to his Lord
And up till the last breath escaped from his lips
He prayed that his Ummah would find success

Oh Mountains of Mecca how will it feel
When the earth shall quake and tremble with fear
And we shall be gathered together to stand
In the court of Allah with our deeds at hand

Oh how we pray that on that day, we'll be with those to whom Allah will say
Peace be with you, I am pleased with you

Oh Mountains of Mecca, Bear witness that I
To the oneness of Allah do I testify
For all that He's given me, How can I deny
My purpose in life should be only to cry

La illaha illAllah, Muhammad-u-Rasullullah
There is no god but Allah, Muhammad's His Messenger
Allahumma Salli Alla, Muhammad Rasullillah
Allahumma Salli Alla, Muhammad Nabi Allah
Allahumma Salli Alla, Muhammad Rasullillah

Yes, I know what you mean. Alhamdulillah, I was able to make hajj last year, arriving in Jeddah on my 50th birthday. Both Mecca and Medina are the most surreal places on earth that seem almost like Paradise to me. The most amazing thing was going to and returning from salah in Masjid Al-Haram. It was like the ebb and flow of the tide with masses of people from all over the world there for the sole purpose of worshiping their Creator.

I totally get what you mean. One of the most amazing things for me was the feeling of real peace inside masjidil haram and masjid nabawwi, even when I was barely able to move because of so many people. And every shalah jamaah in both masjids were such experience that it is hard to describe: the total unity and brotherhood, the realization that we are Allah insignificant creatures that fully depend on Him, and the feeling of infinite gratifications for all His blessings.

Here's some pictures I took during umra 2009:

Aw mashaAllah beautiful pictures, however I truely believe the pictures will never do justice to what it is really like there...the feeling is indescribable..Alhumdulilah I spent 4 week there, 3 weeks before ramadhan 2008 and the first 10 days of ramadhan in Makkah, I was planning to go again this year..but kheir inshaAllah...Allah is the Best of Planners..People say even if I go once that will be enough..subhanAllah that isn't possible, you yearn to return once again more and more, seeing pictures brings tears to the eyes, the memories of the blessed places flood back..Theres so much I could say lol but I'll stop here...Insha-Allah I'll dig up the pictures and post them.

Asalaamu Alaikum,

Honestly can't wait to go Inshallah, will be so amazing. I'm already overwhelmed just looking at the images, the place where mankind was first re-invited to Islam.

I love the picture where the girl is praying in the middle of the desert. The place looks so serene like nothing can distract her; the thoughts in her mind are pure and only towards the worship of Allah.*sigh* I bet that's the greatest feeling in the world; to be able to worship without any distractions from shaytaan. And you have such a beautiful connection with Allah, where you feel his protection and guidance radiate all around and within you.
