I dint know in which forum to post this. Sorry..
My friends relative passed away and i heard people say something like this (i dunno arabic):

Inna ilahi wa inna ilaihi rajioon?

What does it mean? Is it said instead of 'my heartfelt condolences to you' or something?
What other customs are there thats related to death/funeral?
Thanx..

Peace upon you.

It means 'Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return'." Surah Al Buqra Verse 156.

Muslims should recite this when faced with any calamity.
