Four Types of People in this World Entering a Conversation
by Imam Shafi'ee rahimahullah.

There are four types of people in this world who enter a
conversation/ discussion:

1. One who knows not, and himself knows he knows not, is a
student. Teach that person.

2. One who knows, and others know he knows, is a teacher. Learn
from that person.

3. One who knows, and himself knows not that he knows, is
humble. Encourage him.

4. One who knows not, and himself knows not that he knows not,
is stupid. Avoid that person.

In any dialogue keep these in mind, and you shall be guided to
productive discourses.

The sun burns itself out to give light and life to everything around, and
the moon is muneer, meaning it reflects the light. Within itself it has no
light; it radiates the brilliance of the sun. So when we shine as men, the
implication is that we are reflecting the glorious light of our women. May
Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'aala be pleased with them."

Orphaned at birth, he was always particularly solicitous of the poor and needy, the widow and the orphan, the slave and the downtrodden. At twenty, he was already a successful businessman, and soon became director of camel caravans for a wealthy widow. When he reached twenty-five, his employer, recognizing his merit, proposed marriage. Even though she was fifteen years older, he married her, and as long as she lived, remained a devoted husband.

"Like almost every major prophet before him, Muhammad fought shy of serving as the transmitter of God's word, sensing his own inadequacy. But the angel commanded "Read." "In all things Muhammad was profoundly practical. When his beloved son Ibrahim died, an eclipse occurred, and rumours of God's personal condolence quickly arose. At Muhammad's own death an attempt was made to deify him, but the man who was to become his administrative successor killed the hysteria with one of the noblest speeches in religious history: "If there are any among you who worshipped Muhammad, he is dead. lol. I'll try.

I think what it means is that Shaytan hates it when you remember Allah. So if you were to lie down in order to sleep, all you would have to do is try to remember Allah. Shaytan would quickly use his tricks to make you fall asleep.....so that you don't remember Him.

But maybe somebody else has got a better explanation. ^o)

this reminds me of the story i read some where... it was smewhat like this..

a man came to the imam (don't remember the name) and told his problem that he cant sleep at nights.. the imam told him to pray nafils the whole night and that the problem will be cured by this.. next day he came looking very fresh and told the imam that just after few nafils he was gone to sleep.. imam said your falling to sleep was from shaytan. so instead of sleeping u should had tried to get rid of that shaytan who didn't want u to pray in front of Allah

“A human being is tested so that he may come to know the reality of himself and others. Life is consists of constant testing; testing with what is bad, or testing with what is good. However, what is best for the believer may be found in what he hates, and what is bad for him may be found in what he likes. The true believer is the one who loves that which Allah has chosen for him. So, if He tests him with something that he loves, he thanks Him, and if He tests him with that which he hates, he is patient and thanks Him in this case, as well. And Allah – the Glorified – gives the believer in accordance with what will lead to his happiness in either this World or the next. So, if it is better for him to have something, Allah gives it to him. If it is better for him not to have something, Allah prevents him from having that thing, just as one who is sick is prevented from too much food or water. Therefore, it is upon a person to completely submit to Allah – the Glorified – in regards to what He has chosen for him, and to be pleased with what Allah has given him, and to understand that if Allah prevents him from something, then it is because Allah wishes to save him from being tested with that thing.”

Aasiyah, the wife of Fir’own.

Her eman in Allah thrived under the shadow of someone who said, “I am your Lord, Most High!” When news reached Fir’own of his wife’s eman, he beat her and commanded his guards to beat her. They took her out in the scalding noon heat, tied her hands and feet, and beat her perpetually. Who did she turn to? She turned to Allah! She prayed, “My Lord, build for me a home with you in Paradise, save me from Fir’own and his deeds, and save me from the transgressive people.”

It was narrated that when she said this, the sky opened for her and she saw her home in Paradise. She smiled. The guards watched astonished – she’s being tortured and she smiles? Frustrated, Fir’own commanded a boulder to be brought and dropped on Aasiyah to crush her to death. But Allah took her soul before the boulder was brought and she became an example for all the believing men and women till the end of time:

وَضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا لِّلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اِمْرَأَةَ فِرْعَوْنَ إِذْ قَالَتْ رَبِّ ابْنِ لِي عِندَكَ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَنَجِّنِي مِن فِرْعَوْنَ وَعَمَلِهِ وَنَجِّنِي مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ

And Allah has set forth an example for those who believe: the wife of Fir’own [Pharaoh] when she said, “My Lord, Build for me a home with You in Paradise, and save me from Fir’own and his deeds, and save me from the transgressive [disbelieving people] (At-Tahreem 66/11).
