Maybe some of you have heard of him and some of you haven't. His name is Sh. Uthman Khan and he runs the famous Shatibiyyah Institute for Tajweed and Qira'at.[http://www.shatibiyyah.org/]



Here is a brief bio:
Sheikh Uthman has completed his Alimiyyah Degree from Madrasa Taleemul Islam in the UK. He completed his Hifz at the age of 13 and has been leading Taraweeh since then. He has had the honor of leading in numerous Masaajid across USA and Canada. Some include Wichita Kansas, Jacksonville florida, Pheonix Arizona, Montreal Canada as well as in the UK.

He has also had the honour of leading Taraweeh and working with world renown shuyookh such as Dr Iqbal Nadvi and Dr Zulfiqar Ali Shah and Dr Talat Sultan.

In regards to Education, Sheikh Uthman specialized in Mustalahul Hadeeth and attained his Ijaazah in all the Sihah Sittah from Shuyookh in the UK including sheikh Muslehuddin Brawdwi, who is the students of the student of Maulana Anwar Shah Kashmeeri, and Sheikh Yousuf Badaat, Sheikh Yousuf Darwaan, Sheikh Abul Qaasim and others. He also took interest in Uloom Ul Quran and has written an explanation of Al Fawz Ul Kabeer by Shah WaliAllah which is yet to be published. This interest led him to studying the Qiraa-aat Asharah and he attained Ijaazah in both Asharah Kubrah and Sughrah from numerous world renown shuyookh such as Sheikh Abdul Fattah Furaisi, Sheikh Khalid Barakaat, Sheikh, Imtiyaaz Wali, and Sheikh Abdullah Siraaj. Of these Shuyookh Sheikh Khalid and Sheikh Abdul Fattah have also take Ijaazah from Sheikh Uthman.

Sheikh Uthman is also well know across the world to shuyookh of Tajweed and Qiraa-aat such as Sheikh Ayman Suwayd, Sheikh Ma'saraawi, and also Sheikhah Kareema czerepinski who is the author of the famous book Tajweed rules of the Quran. Sheikh Uthman has worked a lot with youth and also councils youth in their affairs. Of his achievements is being the founder of Shatibiyyah Institute of Tajweed and Qiraa-aat, as well as he has 30 Huffaz who have graduated under him. The Youngest of which was 9 years old when he finished his Hifz. Over Hundreds of Students across North America know sheikh Uthman's very traditional and philosophical approach in teaching islamic sciences which include Hadeeth, Tafseer, fiqh, Tajweed Qiraa-aat etc. This is usually apparent in his Halaqaat as well.

Sheikh Uthman has the honour of holding two of the most valuable things in Qiraa-aat. The shortest chain in the world in Qiraa-aat as well as the most high chain in Qiraa-aat from Azhar University.

He also answers Tajweed Questions on abouttajweeed.com as well as has, with his father and family worked on the famous quranicsciences.com.
For those of you interested in learning Tajweed with him, getting an ijaazah in recitation or going through the entire Qur'an via Shatibiyyah and Durra - he has just launched his online university for Tajweed and Qira'at called Jaamiah Jazriyyah. Go through the website and check out the classes he will be teaching ONLINE. He does give ijaazah at the end of some of the classes. It's open for BOTH brothers and sisters. I can tell you guys first hand that you will truly master the sciences of the Qira'at if you study with him. His teaching style is really good and well paced and he makes sure his students understand the rules well. He's been teaching for many years now. If you a have passion for the Qur'an, and I know many of you here do, take advantage. It's not everyday that you can learn Qur'an from someone who has the shortest sanad in the world today from your home.

Sheikh Uthman's recitation is beautiful. Iv heard him a few times in our local mosque. He also has a brother who leads here sometimes and the way he recites is so relaxing. I really wish I could share it here with you guys but unfortunately I cant find any links of his recitation.
