I'm looking for information about Shari'ah. Good, unbiased information. What books should I read to learn about Shari'ah. I would like to learn all aspects of it, the history, the differing viewpoints between muslims on Shari'ah, the actual laws of Shari'ah, etc... If you have any links to good videos or audio about Shari'ah, please provide them.

Hi freethinker,

I hope someone provides you with the links but as far as I know, you wont be able to understand shariah if you haven't read the Quran in detail with good explanation. Shairah laws come from the Quran and the Sunnah ( the way of the Prophet saww). And I see little use for an athiest being able to understand Laws which come from the supreme authority, in which he doesn't believe or has any idea of how the supreme authority is perceived as by the muslims. Its funny though how every other authority on Earth is acceptable to them , no matter how corrupt but not the absolute JUSt authority. Anyhow, I hope you find what you're looking for.

Just like you cant become a cardiologist( a specialist training course after basic medicine) by skipping your basic medical education, you cant grasp fully the higher level course of Islamic law without going through the basics. All the best.
