I have been unable to access the froums for the past 3 days, saturday, sunday monday. Tried all day, the empty google page shows up where the site cannot load, even now I have been trying to refresh the page and it took around a 100 times of refresh to load :/ whats up with that? is this forum being hacked/firewalled/ made inaccessible??

Same here.
It's been over two weeks now that I can't access the forum for at least a few hours every morning, a few in the afternoon, and then intermittently outside of those times too, when it works if you keep re-loading/refreshing.

I have had no such difficulty, but there have been posts written and posted but not displayed.

What ISPs are you all using?
there has been no server problems at all its been up non stop for the past 11 days without any downtime at all
[root@box etc]# uptime
21:04:22 up 11 days, 23:25, 1 user, load average: 0.02, 0.04, 0.05
also could some of you do a tracerroute and post me the results
start > cmd
type
tracert islamicboard.com
and also what time exactly are you finding it inaccessible UK time?
Reply
Also if you find you cant access it could you all go to
http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ at the same time its down and have a look at the results to see if its down for you or everyone else

Varies, but typically 7am - 11am/12 pm, then in the afternoon, say 2pm for an hour or so. At these times refreshing doesn't work either. Outside of these times, it intermittently doesn't work, but if you keep refreshing, it does.

Don't give me some other foolish ideas :raging:
My Windows 7 license has expired :( I installed a pirated copy of Windows XP SP3. I thought it was OS which is not working so I downloaded Ubuntu. When download completed I found that I left my USB stick at my office. So I used my mobile card as USB.
I was unable to install Ubuntu using my D and E drive. (can you kindly PM me how to fix those drive options... )
LOL!!
How to change DNS server? I use cable net... the guy is using Tenda as net distributor... assigns us IPs from his own end and there is no need of doing any changes on our machines. Its just plug and play.

So I assume that you are now on your pirated copy of win xp sp3. :p Are you able to see your E and D drives? Your internet, Does it use DHCP? I am not sure about Tenda technology.

Maybe the new IB server put in some sort of bandwith quota for visitors and hence difficulties in accessing the forum?
Is that even possible?

How do you do that? DNS setting of the browser or system?
If its browser then tell me how to do it in FF. I use cable net and there is no setting required from my end to access the internet. The cable guy just takes my machines make(physical) address and update it on his end.

I was going to write, that if this is something that might work for the rest of us, can somebody please explain in plain language for non-technical people what we have to do, or give some info or a link, but anyhow, I googled it, and eventually worked out what to do and how to do it, and so far it seems like it's working.
For anyone that would like to try it, these are the instructions for Windows XP:
http://www.plus.net/support/software...g_dns_xp.shtml
These are the instructions for Windows Vista:
http://www.plus.net/support/software...ns_vista.shtml
And these are the instructions for Windows 7, under the big green writing where it says, "Here's how":
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...ndows-7-a.html
For preferred DNS server, put 8.8.8.8 rather than what's suggested in the links.
For alternate DNS server, put 4.4.4.4 rather than what's suggested in the links.
Hope that helps a bit inshaa'Allah.

It shouldn't affect it in any way.
I've been using google dns servers for almost a year now and it hasn't given me any difficulties, although there's problems in logging into IB time to time (especially when I opened tabs simultaneously)

What is the actual problem that occurred when we first couldn't get on to the forum? Did something change? No other website is giving this problem where we have to change our settings to accommodate it.
Although accessing from the computer is now fine having made the changes, what do we do about mobile devices (say standard mobile phones) that still have the same problem of not being able to access the forum at certain times "the url
http://www.islamicboard.com is unavailable"? Is it the same procedure, or something different? I don't really want to infere with the service provider's internet settings...

this could be due to long inactivity (took time in typing a very long post) so this is also OK. you can keep searching the forums or some other activity in another tab while busy here in typing long post.
The DB error I was referring to is like:
I opened the website and it was shown with plain white background with no formatting etc. Now whatever I will do will generate a database error i.e I tried to browse the forums without logging in or I tried to log in.
