Although many socities claim that they seek th eabsolute freedom of Man . the fact is that in no human society Man can be free in the absolute sense of the word , as there must be some limitations of one sort or another.
Umlike the so-called " Islam means restriction". It appreciates freedom & guarantees it for all muslims as well as for non-muslims.
Accordong to Islam Man is born free in a pure state of nature , free from subjugation ,sin or inherited inferiority. His right of freedom is sacred as long as he doesn't deliberatelt violate the law of God.
One of the main objectives of Islam is to emancipate the mind from superstitions & uncertainities , and the soul from sin & corruption , and the conscience from opression & fear , and even the body from disorder & degeneration.
The course which Islam has enjoined on Man to realize this goal includes profound endeavors, constant spiritual observance. Binding moral principles . when Man follows this course religiously, he can't fail to reach his ultimate goal of freedom & emancipation.
Freedom of belief , worship & conscience in Islam is of a great importance. Contrary to what is claimed , that muslims force others to embrace Islam, the opposite to this claim is proved in the Quran , where Allah says :
" Let there be no compulsion in religion, Truth stands out clear from error , whoever rejects evil & believes in God has grasped the strongest bond that never breaks .And God knows & hears all things"
Islam takes this attitude because religion depends on Fiath , will and commitment, so it would be meaningless if it induced by force.
Islam presents the truth of God in thev form of opportunity & leaves the choice for Man to decide his own course.
The Quran says :
[BANANA]" The truth is from your Lord . Let him who eill believe ; and let hil who will disbelieve"[/BANANA]
The islamic concept of freedom is an article of faith& solemn comand from the Supreme Creator. It is built on the following fundamental principles:
Man's conscience is subject to God only ,to whom every Man is directly responsible
Every human being is presonally responsible for his deeds and he is alone is entitled to reap the fruits of his work
God has delegated to Man the responsibility to decide for himself.
Man is sufficiently provided ith spiritual guidance and endowed with rational qualities that enable him to make ersponsible , sound choices .
Such is the foundation of the Islamic concept of freedom and such is the value of freedom in Islam .
It’s a natural light of Man , a spiritual privilege, a moral prerogative, and, above all, a religious duty.
In Islam the individual's right of freedom is as sacred as his right of life; freedom is the equivalent of life itself.
