Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al- Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.
(Al-'Isra': v.1)

This was inspired by these three threads Palestine , Allah Does Not Disapoint! and Faster than Light.

The following is some reflections I wished to share with my brothers and sisters;

It is vitally important that we Muslims get the correct Knowledge and beliefs regarding Allah(swt) and His Power and Greatness.
This is specially important because of the difficult circumstances of today that we all face as Believers.

Now let us look at the following two cases;

The first case is the Isra and Mi'raj of the Prophet(pbuh). While the Prophet(pbuh) was in the Kaaba, Makkah, one night, the amazing journey begins, when in one night, the Prophet(pbuh) was taken from Kaaba(Makkah) to Masjid al-Aqsa(Jerussalem). Then in that same night, the Prophet(pbuh) was taken from Masjid Al-Aqsa on Mi'raj through the first heaven, then the second heaven, then the third, fourth, fifth, six, up to the seventh heaven.

Now, keep in mind that the first heaven compared to the second in size is "like a ring in a desert", and the second compared to the third is "like a ring in a desert", and the third compared to the fourth is "like a ring in a desert" and so on up to the seventh heaven.

Then in that very same night, the Prophet(pbuh) was brought back to Makkah safe and sound.

A Question: how much distance did He)pbuh) cover?

Well, the distance between Makkah and Bait-al-Maqdis is approximately 1234 kilometers or 767 miles.
The distance between al-Aqsa and the farthest known star in the universe (Abell 1835 IR1916) is about 13.2 billion light years away.

Speed of light is approximatly 186 Thousand miles per second or 671 million miles an hour.
that is about 6 Trillion miles a year. Now Multiply: 6 Trillion miles by 13.2 Billion years - that is how far the farthest 'known' star in the universe is.
Nnow here is the Mind-blower: All the stars we see in The Universe - They are all in Samaa Dunya( 1st heaven) - and we said; 1st heaven compared to the second is "like a ring in a desert".

Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars
(As-Saaffaat v.6)

So in One Night Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) completed this journey that we can't even imagine with our feeble minds the distance he covered. With all the technologies of today, all the rockets, all the f16s all the missiles, we can't even reach the nearest star.

'None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner,
to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things omnipotent.’

The second case is the Hijra of the Prophet(pbuh).

Approximatly 1 year after the Isra and Mi'raj, the Prophet(pbuh) with Abu Bakr(ra) migrated from Makkah to Madinah. With the enemies of our beloved bent on capturing/killing him, the Prophet(pbuh) and Abu Bakr(ra) migrated in secrecy, they hid in a cave for days, hired a guide to take them through a difficult, un-common route to Madinah. From the Day the Prophet(pbuh) left Makkah to the day he arrived in Quba near Madinah, it took him approximatly 12 days.

Now here is a Question; what is the distance between Makkah and Madinah?
It is only approximatly 338.93 kilometers (km) or 210.6 miles

How easy would it have been for Allah(swt) to take his beloved Messenger from Makkah to Madinah in a nanosecond, thus saving him from all the hardships of those 12 days? very easy of-course;

Final Question: Why didn't Allah(swt) do that?

Allah(swt) says in the Noble Qur'an:

And if Allah willed He could have punished them (without you) but (thus it is ordained) that He may try some of you by means of others.
(Surah Muhammad V. 4)

We have made some of you as a trial for others: will ye have patience?
(Furqan v. 20)

This is the secret behind the changing phases of the life of this Dunya. The Believer knows this secret, and thus never despairs nor becomes weak nor gives in. A Mu'min knows and believes the Power and Abilities of Allah(swt), knows the Laws of Allah(swt), [Al-Qadaa Wal Qadar] Knows His or Her role and responsibilities- thus invests all his/her time and energy on the things that he/she is responsible for. This is the path To Success, the only path if followed one will never Lose nor will ever be defeated!!!!

Listen to the words of those who Understood this Secret:

How many of the prophets fought (in Allah´s way), and with them (fought) Large bands of godly men? but they never lost heart if they met with disaster in Allah´s way, nor did they weaken (in will) nor give in. And Allah Loves those who are firm and steadfast.

All that they said was: "Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and anything We may have done that transgressed our duty: Establish our feet firmly, and help us against those that resist Faith."

And Allah gave them a reward in this world, and the excellent reward of the Hereafter. For Allah Loveth those who do good.

(Surah Al'Imran v. 146-148)

The Secret is summarized beautifully in these short yet powerful words;

I am pleased with Allaah as a Lord, Islaam as a religion and Muhammad(pbuh) as a Messenger!

Recite it often,
Reflect upon it,
Understand its creed,
Put it into practice!
