Hi mystifyed;

If you have Windows, then you should have a Windows movie maker file, either 2. or 2.6. already on your computer. The following is a 10 minute tutorial on how to use this programme. You could also just do a random search of youtube for other tutorials.

:sl: ask scimitar or Jedi_mindset, they're both movie makers. Anyways, I would recommend you to use Sony Vegas 8 or go for 11 professional edition. They offer you cropping tool, effects, transitions, title n much more(search the plugins of video fx if you want more of it). To spice things up, use adobe after effects to make cool intros or outstanding video fx. Trust me, it will take sometime to get use to at first buts gonna be worth it! I don't use windows movie maker cuz it took forever for me to process my video to .avi. Oh n dun forget to use virtualdub as well, might be useful too

i use one called avs4you - you can get a lifetime subscription to all their software including audio and a host of other stuff for around £40 - not the best on the market - but decent enough to get quite a bit done:

you can use the video coverter for basic stuff - or the video editor for advanced:

here's one i made using some of the MOST basic tools - there are a lot more:
