Course description:

The course aims to highlight the history behind the origins of various schools of thoughts of Islamic Jurisprudence developed during the early centuries of Islam. It will also teach the etiquettes of adherence to a particular madhab and the correct attitude towards those with differing opinions, with examples from the lives of the companions and the great scholars. The course will also briefly elaborate on biographies and efforts of founders and contributors of the great madhabs of the Ahl Sunnah wa al Jama’h.

"Sheikh Akram's programme is a deep-dive into classical Islamic scholarship. Don't expect to learn what to think, but rather how to think." (Ali Abdullah Phd student, Oxford University)
