I work with old people who have Alzheimer's. It affects their behavior so much. They curse, want to punch me, fail to obey (e.g., to get up from the bed to get washed up and change the diaper) and usually resist everything. I feel quite awful for having to raise my voice and be kind of mean to them. It takes a lot of patience to do everything for a defiant adult. The mornings are busy with 14 other people waiting for help and this one person taking up to an hour of my time. I'm not complaining, though.

I was wondering if Islam gives any guidelines as to how to deal with these cases; what is acceptable and what is not? Any thoughts or experiences on this issue?
