Taliban rejected 9/11 ! Part 3

Most of the American people are made to believe that Taliban and Al-Qaeda are the same and have the same goals, but the fact remains that Taliban never approved of Al-Qaeda's global terrorism aims and infact tried to prevent Bin Laden from operating in Afghanistan..OBL had become a headache for them and they too wanted to expel him long before 9/11 but wanted strong proofs against him as he had already become a robinhood of sorts for the Afghan people..

Interview With Osama bin Laden. Denies His Involvement in 9/11
Full text of Pakistani paper's Sept 2001 "exclusive" interview

Daily Ummat in Urdu, BBC translation in English, 2001

Ummat: You have been accused of involvement in the attacks in New York and Washington. What do you want to say about this? If you are not involved, who might be?

Usamah [Osama bin Laden]:
I have already said that I am not involved in the 11 September attacks in the United States. As a Muslim, I try my best to avoid telling a lie. I had no knowledge of these attacks, nor do I consider the killing of innocent women, children, and other humans as an appreciable act. Islam strictly forbids causing harm to innocent women, children, and other people.

Afghanistan's Taliban rulers condemned the attacks and also vehemently rejected suggestions that Osama bin Laden, who had been given asylum in Afghanistan, could be behind them.[20]

Taliban offered to hand over Bin Laden if shown 9/11 evidence

Uploaded by chr1zoo on Oct 8, 2011
A senior Taliban minister has offered a last-minute deal to hand over Osama bin Laden during a secret visit to Islamabad, senior sources in Pakistan told the Guardian last night.

For the first time, the Taliban offered to hand over Bin Laden for trial in a country other than the US without asking to see evidence first in return for a halt to the bombing, a source close to Pakistan's military leadership said.

But US officials appear to have dismissed the proposal.

I remember after 9/11 and before the invasion of Afghanistan. I remember hearing that the Taliban wanted evidence before they would hand over Bin Laden and I remember the cold and gung ho response of the Bush adminstration refusing to provide any and just attacking. It was what first brought me to care about US politics (and to protest the wars). Then they drummed up the whole fraud of WMD in Iraq and invaded that country and ever since I have been weary of the military industrial complex. There was a lot of American imperialism before that of course. But as a Canadian not too interested in politics I didn't learn about any of that until this happened.

I don't know abt the Taliban lead by Mullah Omar but the Pakistani Taliban is a curse to our nation and I hope every last one of them is butchered by the Pakistani Army. :raging:
