Heart warming news. Pakistani pop-singer, Shiraz Uppal has left music for practicing Islam.
In an interview he said, "Some media people sarcastically remarked to me “You must have done a couple of trips to Raiwind already.” I told them I have never been to Raiwind. I am not affiliated with any group or sect. All I want to do now is to read the Qurʾān and Ahadith, to follow the Prophet

's example. I did meet Shaykh Zulfiqar Naqshbandi four years back and took a sort of bait with him but he never asked me to quit music. I recently met him again and asked him why didn't you ask me to quit. He replied that when I met you four years back I knew you had this desire in your heart so I made du‘ā’ for you."
May Allah give him istiqaama and keep him on the straight path.
Wa salam.

In my opinion, music is not haram unless you make it be haram by making an evil message. Generally, songs are based on good and peaceful message not on violent and evil message. If you wish to sing you can. Can you stop birds, waters, air etc... from singing? No, because there is nothing you can do, so do you. So, you can sing but you must make an intention to make in the same time a peaceful and good messages. If you would listen to one of Michael Jackson's songs, they are good and peaceful messages, but if you listen to some Rock songs, you would notice something evil in it and then make a comparison, or consult with someone expert so that he can help you chose the right songs. Singing is part of nature, you may notice that also waves to sing in different way, can you stop them from singing? No. If you do make good and peaceful songs and in the same time practice Islam, then if God wishes, you may earn a lot of virtues.

Music itself elf is very strong and powerful over others, and can control very well, so if you are talented in singing, it is encourageble to make good and peaceful songs and make messages that can lead people to Islam in the way they will accept willingly. So, music has a strong effect. Music is divided in bad and good, if you chose good, that you be excellent and great thing, because you would lead others to make good things for God's sake. Some people who think music is haram, it is because of their ignorance or because they did not fully understood the message from Quran.

Secodn opinion is, that I have not recorded any narration nor interpretation of the Prophet regarding singing, that is becauseit was no clear evidence in Quran. All what I recorded is that the Prophet sat in his house and there was two girls singing and he did not do anything, but a man came to him in visit(I think) then he told the girls "musical instruments of Satan in the Prophet's house?!" and the Prophet shut his mouth by telling him "...for every nation there's festival, and we have ours(Minor Festival and Festival of Sacrifice)". That's it. But I haven't seen anywhere in Quran saying that it is undouptfully haram to sing.

Quran is very easy to understand.

Hopefuly I made sense.

P.S. If there's anything you want to comment, please feel free to comment anything because I don't mind.

What we think or do has no importance but what the shariah says is important.

O man, why did God decreed To forbid us music? Why He did not decreed To Make music be one of the best creations of God? How am I gonna develope my culture without litle music? If I don't get to listen to some songs, how can I learn new things in order for me to make new friends in my age? How can I tell them that in Islam is haram music? they would not understand me and probably would mock me, what should I do? I know 50% of Islmaic stuff and 40% music art(singers, bands and songs) is that ok from me if I manage to listen to songs and also to learn some Islamic sharia? Like this, I won't commit any sin if I do like this, right?
If it is really haram, then why the Prophet did not stopped Muslims from singing and using musical instruments at the time when he announced that he has completed the Message? How can you explain this? How can you explain that also thunder makes sounds(music), if it were to be really haram, then thats meannthe thunder would not make no sound, and no birds would sing, isn't it? My mother used to tell me that people made musical instruments based on what mother nature has made for them, and she toldbme that tombs are based on the sound of thunder. People are trying to imitate the natural music, this what she told me. I'm sorry, I don't mean to not follow the footsteps of the Prophet, I just want to get things clear so that,I can know what to do, because I enjoy listening to songs especially Rock and Electronik. And I only listen to songs which do send messages that can lead me to do good deeds. Have you listened to Michael Jackson's songs? In one of his songs was about anti rasism, he was only trying to compose songs so that he can lead people to become anti rasists so that the racism in USA will be gone for good. Many singers have good heart and they want to make others have good heart too so that together can make a wonderful place with extremely less evil.
