This sounds uncomfortably like a leaving speech, and I hope that is not the case.

Nothing to forgive here, and on the contrary:

Please forgive us.. I feel maybe we failed you. Muslims should check on one another, they shouldn't leave another Muslim hurting in need or sad. Isn't it our job to gladden the hearts of one another. I don't know why your post is making me cry.

Greetings and peace be with you zAk;

I have always been made to feel welcome here, so a big thank you to you and all the mods on this forum. It seems we rarely post on the same threads, but from all your posts I have read there has been nothing offensive for me to forgive.

It is a blessing to able to pray for you and your family, and I pray that you will all reach salvation. And I say this believing that you will live and die a faithful Muslim. I also ask forgiveness if I have offended anyone here, it has never been my intention to offend; my intentions have always been to search for a greater interfaith understanding.

Blessings and peace be with you and your family

Eric

On a serious note, there is nothing to forgive. Every successful organisation has a man with a vision in its core that puts it on the map, defines it and makes it what it is: Apple had Steve Jobs, Microsoft has Bill Gates and Li has zAk (aka Abuji). Sadly, none of these organisations survive for long after their visionary departs, if anything Li needs your du'aas to continue to run as efficiently and successfully as it always has, but a body is never the same without its soul. May Allah keep you firm and steadfast on Islam, now and always.

Your brother, 'Abd-al Latif :)

We keep giving him the grand sendoff then he'll really leave... Like Br. Abdu al-Latif said in so many words, the visionaries are the soul & heart of everything...
but I question survival without the soul...
I do see many people everyday (well not of late as I chose hermitage but I digress) .. most of them make no impact whatsoever and at the same time bleed you out of your humanity and poison your soul.. then every now and then comes along someone who is lively, animated & adorned with those millennium old traits that are so hard to come by and well they should be caged like song birds :skeleton: maybe we're being selfish? .. I hope akhi if you're reading this, that you'll reconsider.. there's no reason a good one anyway to make that Ansar Al Adl exist and I really hope you won't..

Tho' much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.---T

Assalaam alaikum brother zAk.

I was having a fairly typical day until I signed into IB forum and got this message telling me that zAk wanted me to take a look at this thread. So I clicked... and after reading your post akhi, I feel like I am losing a brother I always wanted to have the opportunity to get to know better... You've done fantastic things with this place and truth be told - I believe it to be the best Islamic forum on the net. And I do mean that. I've joined a quite a few in my time, and lurked even more sites... so kudos to the time and effort you have invested into this for the sake of Allah.

"To HIM we come from, and to HIM we return." All else is just caught up in transit.

There's nothing to forgive. So I say "Alhamdulillah" instead. Bro zAk, May Allah keep you in HIS infinite mercy and eternal grace both in this life, and the next, may HE shower your family and loved ones with knowledge, steadfastness and understanding that leads to wisdom, may HE make all your paths straight and not crooked, and may HE guide you always to the middle path. And may HE send you back to us on IB forum when you get where you need to be, Ameen.

Some people go and they're irreplaceable .. like Br. Anwar before remember him? it wasn't a good riddance for many of us. Some of us grow & learn from others and they become family and there's a void when they're gone.

I kinda can't believe this I'm seeing this thread. I was watching a video on youtube about a hindu who killed his niece because she reverted to islam. The story was painful and I cried to the extent that I gave myself a headache. Despite being absent from the forum and wanting to stayaway a while longer, I thought, "I'm going to log in and give brother zAK the link to this story. He must see it as it happened in his country."

And I come, only to be saddened again. Well there's absolutely nothing to forgive bro. I've always felt that despite my many faults, you've always been kind and non judgmental toward me and I ask Allah to reward you abundantly for that. Ameen. But I prefer not to believe that our dear brother won't be back with us again. Insha Allah as soon as whatever is taking you away is sorted by the Grace and Mercy of Allah subhana wa ta'ala, we will see you back insha Allah. I pray Allah removes your difficulties and replaces them with happiness and ease in all matters, and keeps you and your family under His Protection and Blessings. Ameen Ya Rabbil aalameen. if there is anything................................. ANYTHING at all, your sister can do for, PLEASE don't hesitate in asking.

Should I write about the pranks 'we' pulled on others?

Since my first day here on IB (Islamic Board) I have seen this man topping every section every thread every post. He always missed every good chance to shut up.

but wait..if you are going, don't go because, I am going to upload so many beautiful nasheeds inshaallah :sunny: .. like the one you liked and asked me if you can send it as a forward email. Remember? (tapte hue sehra me kab koi humara tha)
And offcourse because I have always seen you as my big brother. Though I don't log often cuz of my academic studies. But whenever I come here I'v felt your presence somewhere in IB.

Here is a beautiful dua.

اور آتے رہیئے گا جناب کہیں بھول نا جائے گا ہمیں کیونکہ وہ کہتے ہیں نا کہ ۔

یوں نہ ہو اٹھ کے چلے جائیں تری بزم سے ہم

Brother, you have done nothing but good as far as i personally have seen, and have always been understanding and forbearing of faults, may Allah be the same towards you.
though i still don't understand why you have to leave the forum - since the net is everywhere these days,
i pray that Allah always removes any afflictions or obstacles from your path and makes you one of those with who He is well pleased til the day you meet Him.

we're an ummah made strong by faith the strength we draw from one another.. and when the integrity of that is shaken.. I guess we're all left a little shaken too..

I logged in and got the message saying zAK wanted me to view a thread. I couldn't help but grin - zAK using his power on LI again. Laughing, I clicked the link wondering what he had in store this time.....

I soon stopped grinning. Absolutely gutted. Brother zAK, we had our run-ins when I first joined, but this place SERIOUSLY ain't gonna be the same without you! All the LI oldtimers are disappearing!!!

Nothing to forgive akhi. Nothing at all. I pray Allah watches over you and your family, who knows? Maybe we shall meet again someday - Jannat al-firdous inshaAllah ta'ala!!

Badr minawaar = a full moon or rather an illuminated one.. I know it is a horrible implication in English lol associated with DZ but it is actually quite poetic in Arabic.. like when the prophet PBUH went to medina and they chanted 'tala3 al'badr 3lyna' = the moon has visited or something akin to that..

at any rate which of my siggys do you like? I just changed it again.. I am trying to duck in my room don't feel like braving the outside, I had breakfast right after fajr too so I can avoid being out there it is 'fish day' lol

We should bin this whole thread and then he'll have no choice but to be seeing red and clean this board of its riffraff and make the bloody pages work for a change.. I use three different browsers to navigate this forum, and I am so ashamed to admit it :raging:

Is it horrible to want the place to smell like betadine and my laundered linens to smell well laundered?

Al-Bukhaari (3209) and Muslim (2637) narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“When Allaah loves a person, He calls out to Jibreel: ‘Allaah loves So and so,’ so Jibreel loves him. Then Jibreel calls out to the people of heaven, ‘Allaah loves So and so, so love him.’ So the people of heaven love him and he finds acceptance on earth.”

Al-Nawawi said: “and he finds acceptance on earth” means that people love him and are pleased to see him, so their hearts incline towards him. It says in another report: “and he finds love on earth.”

If you find yourself caring about some Muslims even through their afflictions (which is the time when you know people run away from you) or even just enjoying their presence when they're not afflicted and find that you grow, learn, in joy & peace in their presence then in shaa Allah, Allah swt has willed it to be so.
It is a great thing..
I feel sadness that some of the best contributors from this forum are missing.. It doesn't become a place of learning but idle chat illa man ra7ima rabbi..

This is how we remember ZAK

Whether through virtue, contributions, force of personality or sheer longevity certain forum participants will rise to form an aristocracy. While it is generally taboo to openly acknowledge the class distinctions, the hierarchy is well understood by all. While for the most part the Royals rule with magnanimity, they will not tolerate impertinence from the hoi polloi. It is their habit to remain aloof from petty squabbles among their subjects, but when full-scale war breaks out their intervention can be decisive.

of course his intervention is something like this:

effective nonetheless :D

An urban legend [emoji2]

I heard he was a popular member back in the days, known for his "ZaK attacks". Unfortunately I wasn't on this forum in those days.

zAk is the first member to reach 100,000 posts on LI (old name of IB forums)
He was the top poster. He had a contribution in almost everything.

Someone rightly said:

He was a Moderator, a Super Moderator and an Administrator. He was the most efficient staff member among us. He is my teacher and he is our teacher.

He server LI for 7 years as a staff member. He retired on his own on 20 April 2012.

He used to lighten up the mood on IB. Legend says he had some mysterious powers over IB. He used to annoy the annoying ones. His zAk AttAcks were legendary.

His post was never filled. We still miss him as much as we did on the day he retired.

I had an encounter with zAk once(I wasn't active too much before 2012) and I found him to be a man of frank nature and very personable. He also invited me to another virtual space but due to some reasons I couldn't joined him there.

If I may add,one more name then it must be Brother Ansar Al-'Adl,a man crowned as Jewel of LI whom I've noticed was a hot commodity on Islamic forums of that time. But he stayed here to make a difference...

Yes, brother Ansar Al-'Adl is :ma:, a very knowledgeable brother and a good debater. He contributed a lot to the forum in the beginning and his posts serve as reference material for us. May Allah :swt: reward him abundantly for it.
He was also one of the Admins here, but he retired too early.
