:sl:

I am thinking I got one year left in college, and I need to decide if I want to go to uni. First thing is if I get low grades I can't enter uni but if I get good grades I can enter unit but with a around £27, 000 debt on my head..

I was thinking would it be cheaper to study in country like Canada, or Middle East? thing is with Middle East is that I might need to know Arabic..I want to do IT..

Apprenterships are also good, but very competitive and they require very hard grades..

Saudi Arabia is trying to make their country more tech advanced. It would be cheaper in Saudi Arabia as they are hiring technology proffesionals left and right quickly. They have MASSIVE construction for housing and phones services etc. So i would say Saudi Arabia or a place like the UAE. You will be put in a "false town", a small town they make to look like the west and have other techies like yourself working there. It is set up to make you feel at home. No dust, no Sharia and minimum Arabs/Persians and a nice pay ;D along with the fact living is cheap and you will learn Arabic second hand no doubt

I was just looking and http://www.kaust.edu.sa/ I think you need very high grades to study there, but I think they also pay you for studying there or give you some kind of bursary, plus home and free health care..?

I would like to do Software Development..

Oh yes of course, they are Arabs. Just like Japanese they are a perfectionist society. They wont let some dumb fool with a slacking education inside and mess everything up. And in general most foreign applications require a higher grade level. My oldest sister went to England for college because she was the only personw ith the high enough level.

University is pretty expensive in Canada, but I don't know how it compares to the UK. Quebec (province of) does have cheaper university costs compared to the rest of the country but right now, big student strike going on protesting the raising of the costs of schooling to a level that is still lower than the rest of the country. No clue when the strike will end so no clue if they are looking for next years students or not. May cause issues in the future for students coming in from abroad. Of course you would have to learn French to take any course in Quebec.. but rest of the country, just need English.

Probably best thing to do is google tuition fees for 2012 and most universities will have estimate fees for specific courses plus book/equipment fees and cost of living etc.

In English countries you also get charged interest which is a problem..
