Maybe this sounds weird, but winter is my favourite season. :D The snow is just beautiful. We have beautiful winter here in Sweden every year(so much snow and clear blue sky) and I look forward to 2012/2013 winter inshallah. :D

Here are some beautiful pics from Sweden:

The Snowman
By: Wallace Stevens

One must have a mind of winter
To regard the frost and the boughs
Of the pine-trees crusted with snow;

And have been cold a long time
To behold the junipers shagged with ice,
The spruces rough in the distant glitter

Of the January sun; and not to think
Of any misery in the sound of the wind,
In the sound of a few leaves,

Which is the sound of the land
Full of the same wind
That is blowing in the same bare place

For the listener, who listens in the snow,
And, nothing himself, beholds
Nothing that is not there and the nothing that is.

I'd love it if it rained everyday in Ramadhan insha-Allah.

If Allah gives me the tawfeek I will pay a visit insha Allah.

Lol, I think the cable cars are pretty safe bro. The worst accidents are vehicles losing control and falling down the mountains into deep ravines. Wish they'd do something about that.

Where you live the winters must be very long and hard, sister harb!
Have you ever considered moving further south?

Narrated Sahel Ibn Sa'ad (RA): that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: 'Two will not be rejected, Supplication when the Adhan (call of prayer) is being called, and at the time of the rain'. [Al-Hakim 2: 114, and Abu Dawud #2540, ibn Majah] .

One of the du'as that can be said after the opening takbeer at the start of the prayer (from the sunnah):

‘O Allaah, distance me from my sins just as You have distanced The East from The West, O Allaah, purify me of my sins as a white robe is purified of filth, O Allaah, cleanse me of my sins with snow, water, and ice.’

(Bukhari 1/181 and Muslim 1/419)

One of the du'as said in the funeral prayer (from the sunnah):

'O Allaah, forgive and have mercy upon him, excuse him and pardon him, and make honorable his reception. Expand his entry, and cleanse him with water, snow, and ice, and purify him of sin as a white robe is purified of filth. Exchange his home for a better home, and his family for a better family, and his spouse for a better spouse. Admit him into the Garden, protect him from the punishment of the grave and the torment of the Fire.’

(Muslim 2/663)

This is a time when the blessings of Allah descend from the heavens, and so it is also one of the times when the du'a of a worshipper is accepted.

Sahl ibn Sa'd narrated that the Prophet :saws: said:

"Two are the du'as that are never returned: the du'a made when the prayer is being called, and at the time of rainfall."

(Abu Dawud 3540, al-Haakim 2/114)

The Prophet :saws: also said:

"Seek the response to your du'as when the two armies meet, and the prayer is called, and when rain falls."

al-Shaafi (1/223)

And Allah knows best.

Source regarding rain: Du'a: The weapon of the believer: A treatise on the status and etiquette of du'a in Islam by Abu Ammaar Yasir Qadhi.

Peace.

Thanks about this but I would prefer just water - you others can keep snow and ice. That one doesn´t make me love that cold period called winter any more - with snow, ice on roads, darkness and freezing wind from north.

Brother ardianto and me are probably on the same boat since we live pretty close to one another(geographically)

But at least Indonesia has tall mountains and i suppose its much cooler up there. Singapore does not even have mountains, for God's sake, the highest natural peak we have here is a hill and it's a little over 150m. Most buildings here are taller than that ^o)
