"When is Eid?"
"At 1 Shawal"
"When is 1 Shawal?"
"Just wait for official announcement"
:)
There are few methods to determine when the Ramadhan begin and end, but not every Muslim capable to do it. So, as lay Muslims, it's better if we wait for official announcement from Muslim government or Muslim organization.

Relax people. I'm just asking coz I need to make an appointment of my cupping right after Eid. I just read a hadith that states its best to do cupping on 18th, 19th or 21st of the month. So I made mine on 21st. I hope Eid is gonna be before that Insha'Allah.

Salam Alaikkum
For some reason many of us are nervous when Ramadan is on the way, and when Ramadan is here, we actually enjoy and love it.
May Allah accept our fasting and keep us steadfast all the time. Ameeen

21st of August, or 21st Shawwaal?
The ahadeeth always refer to the Islamic months.
Eid (1st Shawwaal) could be around 18th-20th August, and the 17th (it's 17th in the hadeeth), 19th and 21st Shawwaal would therefore be in the period 4th-8th September, and you'd need to make your appointment around then whenever the date in question e.g. 21st is most likely to fall.
It could be that you were referring to shawwaal anyway.

Oh ok. thanks sister. I read it in a book but it did not clearly say that 21st of Shawal, its just says that 21st of the month. Ok anyway, I'm gonna have to do it after Ramadan cause I dont want my fast to be interrupted.

Assalam Aliykum,
As per Makkah Calendar announcement, Eid Al Fitr 2012 should be celebrated on Sunday, 19th August 2012. I am not allowed to post any links here but you can search in google by "makkahcalendar.org Eid Al Fitr 2012".

After around 2 months.
Hajj is during the 12th Islamic Month (Thil-Hijjah) > This will be approximately at the end of October In Sha Allah.
