Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmat Allaah,

The merits of memorising The Book of Allaah are many and great.

So I was wondering if any of you can share the methods you found helpful in memorising the Qur'aan.

wa alaykum assalaam wa rahmatullah, akhi.

I personally find reciting in a rhythm helps me to remember an aayah better. I once heard that memorising something in 5 parts is sunnah, but don't quote me on that.
From the Quran, Hadhrat Musa alayhisalaam recited "Rabbish rahli sadri. Wa yassirli amri" (20:25-26) to call upon Allah ta'ala to ease his task. Please refer to the translation and the arabic text rather than transliteration if possible.

Listening to the audio usually makes it stick inside my head.
