Sometimes people have said I walk slightly strange. I feel strange too when I walk. I'm not sure how to describe the feeling. It just feels weird, like as though I am about to collapse, but I don't collapse.

All I can say is when I was very young, like 5 years old, I was told one day I could not walk. I just could not walk. Every time I tried to stand, I fell. The doctors didn't have a clue what was wrong with me and said that I will have to use a wheelchair or something. My parents got worried, so they took me to this women who specialises in herbal remedies. She didn't give me any medication, just tied something around my leg. Then I was able to walk.

Anyway, any ideas what this condition might be? It does feel like I am about to collapse because it's like I'm walking inwards.

Could be any number of things-
Gowers's is a less bad form of DMD, could be arthritis or charcot- marie -tooth disease or just a nerve entrapment the possibilities are endless or it could be nothing at all.. so bottom line is you should go check it out with a real physician ..

I don't know. I was told the doctors could not work out what was wrong with me when I could not walk. I know it's not DMD (do you mean Duchenne muscular dystrophy?) or arthritis.

I think I will get this checked out with the doctor.

ALSO, this is off topic. How do I cope with allergies and hayfever? I am sick of it. I'm constantly sneezing, eyes are watery, skin dry and I feel miserable. Tablets only provide short term solution. What can doctors do if someone suffers form allergies on a weekly basis?

What did she tie around your leg - was it something to help with the positioning of your leg?

you can ask the doctor for a mast cell stabilizer but it is too late since you're supposed to take them preemptively to stop the allergies from starting but now maybe you can be put on some cortisone and taper down after a week.
Gowers' is a much milder form of Duchenne .. what did they actually say you have? Doctors don't pass the dx of you'll never walk again arbitrarily ..

The doctors at the time did not know why I could not walk. They just said I had to use a wheelchair.

Be careful that it was not some kind of talisman/ta'weez... don't forget to recite Ruqya on yourself.

by no means was I suggesting that's what you have or any of the others listed. Rather that the possibilities are endless and whether or not they said you couldn't walk or had to use a wheel chair, a diagnosis had to have been made for that sort of management.
Question is what was that diagnosis?
if you don't have one go have it looked at now..

Assalamo Alaikum

Brother Say Alhamdulillah You can Walk,You are not on a wheel chair,You are not using a stick or any other mean to handle your balance,So why so worried?Give a dammn about what people think. If I am able to understand your condition correctly,I've seen a similar case like yours in my life and when I asked him about how he reached to this condition He didn't hesitate to describe his case and I can see the satisfaction in his glowing face while telling me.
