While most people here are aware of American terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the terrorism carried out by US allies such as Israel and dictators like Karimov, Zelawi, Mubarak and (former US ally) Qaddafi, is is worthwhile noting that US terrorism affects not only countries with Muslim majority populations, but also countries in Latin and South America with Christian majorities.
Honduras today is under a military regime that has overthrown a democratically elected government, and murders people who speak out for freedom and human rights in their homeland. This regime receives US military aid in 'the war on drugs'.

Hi,
I assume most Americans are not aware of this.

Depends on where you live. I've been well aware of this for quite some time and it's not just happening in Honduras...
Some Americans, and state lawmakers, are more concerned with denying citizenship and legal immigration status to people who try to flee these situations instead of urging Congress to change its policies that enable this to continue to happen.

The US is losing support slowly, south America is pretty much taken by leftist. Fidel Castro was alone for a while, but slowly other people followed suit and now Bolivia, Argentia, Brazil & Venezuela, have signed up the the Bolivarian politics. basically the biggest players in the middle east have joined the leftist movements and these countries finally have governments that represent them. Columbia & Mexico are putting up resistence and siding with the Americans.
Mexico is far too corrupt and will never break it's alliance with the US. Plus the presence of cartels makes any political activism almost impossible, Mexico is also dependant on America through proxy because a lot of migrant workers send money back to Mexico which keeps the mexican economy moving.
When Colombia joines the leftist revolution it will pretty much seal the deal and all the small countries will follow suit.
This is a model that the Muslim world needs to take heed from. Maybe the Arab revolutions will lead to something meaninful, unity amongst the people, and representative government that looks after the best interest of the people and not the foreign paymasters.
With regards to guatamala, that is one hell hole. Guatamal city is a God forsaken land. So much killing, kidnaps and violence. It's impossible to see how the situation can change.
