NABLUS, (PIC)-- The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) asked the residents of Khirbet Tana near the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus to leave the entire area for a period of six months, under the pretext of conducting military exercises.

Eyewitnesses said that the IOF erected military tents and caravans in the region, pointing to the presence of military vehicles holding the flags of the Israeli entity and the United States of America which roamed the area.

The occupation forces warned the residents that they will not bear any responsibility for any injury after ordering them to leave the area as a whole.

The occupation forces gave people ten days to leave their homes and go to the Beit Furik, and warned the residents that the occupation forces will use live ammunition to destruct Khirbet Tana and to force them to leave.

Wasif Hanani, one of the Tana's residents, pointed out that the occupation forces have failed over the past years in forcing the residents to leave despite all its brutal practices, however this time the situation is much more dangerous, where the occupation forces will prevent residents to have access not only to Khirbet Tana, but all its neighboring areas under pretext of conducting military exercises.

Meanwhile, member of the Committee for the Defense of Tana, Monadel Hanani, called on international institutions to stop the Israeli disregard for people's lives, stressing that the occupation forces have no right to establish these military drills and maneuvers on the territory of the citizens and forcing the residents to leave under threat of death or serious injury.

He warned that the occupation forces may seize tens of thousands of acres east of Beit Furik under the pretext of closed military zones, stressing that the residents have rejected the Israeli decision, and they will continue to cultivate their land and to have access to Khirbet Tana whatever the circumstances;

Hanini called on local and Arab and international media to cover the Israeli practices in the area.
