View Full Version : Britain to organise armed Syrian rebels into efficient fighting force

Seems the British want to directly subvert the Syrian revolution.

Britain is to increase its involvement in Syria's bloody civil war by offering to organise the rebels fighting President Bashar Al Assad into a stronger force

In a significant departure MPs will be told today that the UK will directly deal with the armed opposition in Syria for the first time.

Previously Britain has only held talks with the political leaders outside the country over a conflict that has left tens of thousands civilians dead and over 1 million people displaced. Britain yesterday vowed to step up its efforts to bring about an end to a regime that has presided over a civil war that has cost as many as 40,000 people lose their lives.

The first National Security Council meeting after the US presidential election which is likely to be chaired by Prime Minister David Cameron, will be dedicated to the crisis in Syria. That meeting is likely to look at ways to bring America on board with a more direct strategy towards Syria now that the next US president has been elected for a four year term.

Britain is not allowed by a European Union arms embargo to supply weapons to Syria - a fact which Mr Cameron signalled was "frustrating" during a three day visit to the Middle East.

William Hague, the foreign secretary, will tell an opposition conference in Doha today that he "has authorised diplomats to have direct contact with military figures on the ground" through secure communication links with armed rebels.

The man favoured to win western backing for a new opposition front at the Qatar conference told The Daily Telegraph he planned to establish an interim government inside the 'liberated' parts of northern Syria.

It would seek international recognition, request a fund of "more than a billion dollars", and military support to "defend ourselves from the regime's war planes". A written ministerial statement is due to be laid in Parliament outlining the new initiative, which will be coordinated by the team led by Jon Wilks, a senior official at the Foreign Office. Downing Street said Britain wanted to also help the rebel fighters within Syria to work together to topple Assad, as happened in Libya to face Col Muammar Gaddafi's brutal regime.

A Number 10 source said: 'At the moment there are lots of different groups. They haven't come together and coalesced in the way in Libya all with the shared aim of toppling Gaddafi. This is all about helping them to do it.

"We are engaging with the opposition to try and encourage them come together much more on the ground.

"The point of it will be to talk to the leaders of the local armed groups. What we've concluded is that it's too hard to do this by only talking to people outside the country.

"The opposition have been very clear that they want help from the international community."

Britain will also stress to the rebels the need to respect the human rights of captured Government, the source added. Britain is prevented from physically arming the rebels by a European Union arms embargo which prevents any military hardware being supplied to any Syrians. But Mr Cameron signalled that he was frustrated by the embargo and the inactivity of the United Nations.

He told British newspaper reporters: "On Syria, I'm frustrated that we aren't able to do more, either at the UN where I'd like us to push harder for clearer resolutions calling on Syria for a clear political transition. But we'll keep pushing.

'Obviously we're part of an EU arms embargo so we're not able to take that step."

Asked what he would say if Assad said today he was ready to leave and wanted a safe exit, the Prime Minister said: "Done. Anything, anything to get that man out of the country and to have a safe transition in Syria.

"Of course I would favour him facing the full force of international law and justice for what he's done. I am certainly not offering him an exit plan to Britain but if wants to leave he could leave, that could be arranged."

The Prime Minister will pledge an extra £14 million to refugees in Jordan today as he visits a refugee camp which has been set up for Syrians.

I think now that the rebels are moving to Damascus where the dog Al Asad is, the west wants to come in before Syria falls into the hands of Muslims. Asad already went on Russian TV warning that his is the last secular regime in the region and once he falls all will soon follow. The west just wants to come in like they did for Bosnia claim heroism after major massacres were committed and and ensure that no Khilafah takes place..
But you know it is falling out of their hands, here and there falling out of their hands.. People are waking up to realize all those man made systems have done nothing but steal their rights and enslave them and they want what is rightfully theirs- their land, their natural resources and their religion back!

Yeah, you could be right.

Also the Syrian war is spilling over into Israel and they fired some warning shots into Syria today.

Not sure if that has anything to do with U.K's sudden change of heart. There could be so many political factors at play behind the scenes. Time will tell but nevertheless this recent development is good news. :alhamd:

They need whatever help they can get.

Israel is their main concern. BTW for those who think Bashar is a good strong leader, he fired nothing against Israel and practically handed them the Golan on a platter.. the Golan of Syria is pretty much the Sinai of Egypt- Once it falls in the hands of rebels the Israelis are doomed.. Egypt is already unfriendly toward them... We just need to get rid of the evil inside and out and unite already .. I can't stand this much longer..

He's a kalb.. I wached yesterday a video of a father burying his three kids and wife.. I'll never forget how broken that poor guy.. wala 7wala wla qiwta illa billah..multiply that by 100,000 others that we know of.. and we thought his father was a kalb for slaying 20,000 he's a new level of criminal.. and they love it in the west. I don't know why they pretend they care so much.. they care so much now that they're moving to Damascus and because more people including Alwaites are splitting from his regime. The British PM is a Zionist Jew.. of course he's concerned..

Somebody ought to start a thread on all the protests against Islam the French are holding.. still wanna love those people? westerners are our best buds.

No its not, do you really want western involvement in the Syrian civil war? Remember what they did in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The less you have to do with them the better.

Anyway thought this was an appropriate

Well no place is safe from the US and NATO ''humanitarian'' bombing campaigns and imperialistic goals, heck they even occupied the north and south pole. resources, eradicating of abrahamic religions my brother, thats their goal.

''novus ordo seclorum'' - secularization of the world, or to sum it up better: get rid of every abrahamic religion, however judaism and christianity have been hijacked a very while ago, islam is the only pure deen and it will be till the wind from as-shaam will come to take the souls of the believers.

Few years ago major Gas fields were discovered under syria and in the mediterrean sea, gazprom ( russia's oil/gas) jumped right on it, remember that russia is also zionist occupied just like the US. They want to provoke a new world war, a attack on syria can provoke this or not.

In the islamic prophecies, this war will be called the malhama, a very big war. During this war the romans will conquer constantinople and syria.

If NATO invades syria it will be done for israel and turkey, to ''protect'' their allies, and not the syrian people.

The help they're offering here is a little different to Iraq and Afghanistan. They're not actually invading Syria.

They're just offering financial support and to help co-ordinating the rebel efforts which seem to be scattered at the moment.

These are the reasons why I said it might be good news for Syrians as they need all the help they can get right now.

But I don't expect the U.K. to help without expecting something in return so let's wait and see what the catch is.

Lol the catch?
The catch is that they've got a new agent like karzai ready to assume power and get international recognition then they can get him to request armed assistance and air support,
They've had sanctions on Syria for decades but are now trying to give it the final squeeze before hey take control of it.
Those idiots also accepted British government granted satellite phones and freely handed them all the intelligence they want,
I still remember this video by he Syrians called "o syria the victory is coming" where they pledge to trust Allah and not obama or Cameron or the un, hope they live up to it and don't allow the kafirs put their impure, murderous and satanic feet into Muslim land.

Three years later, the criminals have bombed quite a lot of Muslims to death and the French, American, and British governments' rhetoric is predictably changing from "let's arm the rebels" back to "those dangerous terrorists" just as we saw with afghanistan.
But hey, times are different in the internet age - even if brzezinski's the same, people aren't as reliant on the black and white box regurgitating "newspeak" from the trusted "ministy of truth".
