Yes, Allah is testing us. this life is a test. and yes He has given us extra credit as well. For example, look at salah. You have fard points which you need minimum to pass. You have sunnahs, which will help whereever you fall short on fard points. And you hae nawfil points, which is all extra credit. And there is no limit either, you can do as many extra credits as you want.

Bukhari :: Book 8 :: Volume 76 :: Hadith 498 Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:

The Prophet narrating about his Lord I'm and said, "Allah ordered (the appointed angels over you) that the good and the bad deeds be written, and He then showed (the way) how (to write). If somebody intends to do a good deed and he does not do it, then Allah will write for him a full good deed (in his account with Him); and if he intends to do a good deed and actually did it, then Allah will write for him (in his account) with Him (its reward equal) from ten to seven hundred times to many more times: and if somebody intended to do a bad deed and he does not do it, then Allah will write a full good deed (in his account) with Him, and if he intended to do it (a bad deed) and actually did it, then Allah will write one bad deed (in his account) ."

What extra credit are you talking about? Haven't you read the Qur'an? Allah praises the believers endlessly.

We do get extra credit, we cant visibly see it now but God willing we will see it in the after life. We get rewarded for even thinking of doing a good deed even if it isnt carried out.

Mufti Menk cautions us that if your life is going smoothly and there are absolutely no "bumps in the road", then you should be very concerned. you are not being tested, they believers ARE tested. Allah is with those who have sabr, therefore sabr is an act of worship.

Bukhari :: Book 7 :: Volume 70 :: Hadith 548
Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "If Allah wants to do good to somebody, He afflicts him with trials."

So trails are gifts from allah swt...each trial put you close to allah swt...ALHAMDULILLAH ALLAHU AKABR

Assalamu-alaikum brother,

I have noticed that many of your posts have a similiar theme - much frustration at the decisions of Allah (subhanwataála), questioning His decisions and often lack of regard when refering to Allah as well as others.

Akhee, when we refer to our Lord, our Creator - the One who has brought us out from nothing, our ONLY Sustainer, our reason for Life, the Owner of all that exists, and of the Day of Judgement - then surely we need to develop respect in this regard.

There is no humour in the above question, my dear brother.

We are nothing more than completely dependant servants of Allah.

Does a slave address his master in such ways?

We should stand in utmost AWE at the majesty of our Lord, and address/ refer to Him in humility, love, fear and gratitude.

With regards to your question, I think it has been adequately answered in your previous threads - insha Allah, you will find much wisdom if you read these replies again.

As well as:

- Contemplating on our actual PURPOSE in life -
Why have we been created?
Is this life permanent or temporary?
Do we know when death will approach us?
Where are we headed?
What provisions have we made for the Hereafter?

You have the answers to these akhee.

The important part is living our life, as one who sincerely and whole-heartedly believes in these answers.

- Spend as much time as possible in the company of the pious/ those with higher levels of taqwa.
If this is not possible, make an effort to listen to islamic lectures daily and attend deeni classes in your area.

It is only through knowledge, that we will get to Know Allah (subhanawataála) and His messenger (sallalahu alaihi wasalam).
And with this knowledge, will we be able to Love Allah and Muhammed (sallalahu alaihi wasalam) - with such love that we are willing to give up everything, simply to earn the pleasure of Allah azza wajjal.
And when our every action is with the only intention of earning Allah's pleasure - these types of questions will never arise (insha Allah).

May Allah (subhanawataála) shower His guidance upon you and this entire ummah, and fill ours hearts with love that over-flows for Him and His Nabi (sallalahu alaihi wasalam).
Ameen.
