What the hell is happening in India?

New Rape Outrage in India as 7-year-old Schoolgirl is Attacked
A seven-year-old girl has been raped in a school toilet in the Indian holiday state of Goa, sparking mass protests and the arrest of her headmistress, police said.

The incident was reported in the city of Vasco da Gama on Monday, sparking a massive manhunt to trace the accused, thought to be in his early 20s.

"The girl was raped inside the school toilet during recess," a police official told AFP, requesting not to be named. He said the toilet was situated next to the headmistress's office at Deepvihar High School, which has a primary section.

Thousands of people surrounded the school on Monday night demanding the arrest of headmistress and the perpetrator, who is yet to be found.
The headmistress, whose name has been withheld to protect the girl's identity, was initially detained and later arrested for alleged negligence of duty, the police official said.

The arrest comes after the gang-rape of a student on a bus in New Delhi last month sparked nationwide protests and fuelled anger across India over the alarming incidence of sexual assault.

Five men and a teenager have been charged with the rape and murder of the 23-year-old woman, who died 13 days later in a Singapore hospital from horrific injuries.

Also in Goa on Monday, a policeman was arrested accused of sexually abusing sex workers, who said he and two other policemen -- all now suspended -- had been sexually exploiting them in return for protection of their trade.

sadly these are happening in Bangladesh , too . Indian movies are very popular here and these are full of nudity and violence . Surely it has a bad impact on youth . Also , criminals rarely get any punishment here . In many cases , people blame the raped victim .

As-salamu alaykum,

I guess it would be fair to say that in highly populated developing countries, especially the likes of India, you'll find many uneducated and messed up people. Seriously, this news is not something that surprises me at all. When I look at the front page of any newspaper nowadays, all I see is news about rape. Not a day goes by when you turn on the television and the news anchor doesn't mention a rape story. This is reality.

The only way these rapes will reduce is when Islamic law is implemented. I'm sure many people in the world can accept this but they don't want to follow anything Islamic because once they realize a rational solution is similar to an Islamic solution they immediately withdraw from the idea itself. An agnostic friend of mine agreed that modest clothing, banning of pornography and all other Islamic precautions would definitely reduce the amount of rapes, but then they realize, "Oh, this is what Islam preaches? Away with it!"

I remember an article being published in a local newspaper that revealed statistics about women being harassed based on attire and the data showed that women who wore hijab were the least and the only category to be in the single digit percentile (%) of women being harassed. What did the article say about this? "Even women wearing hijab are being harassed!"

This is the kind of mentality in this country.
