Israel fighter jets enter Lebanese airspace, hit targets on Syria border - reports

Israeli air force jets attacked a target on the Syria-Lebanon border on Wednesday night, an unidentified diplomatic source told Reuters. The attack came amid reports of a sizable deployment of Israeli planes in Lebanon.
Several squads of Israeli air force jets violated Lebanese airspace at 2 a.m. local time Wednesday, the Lebanese army reported in a statement earlier on Wednesday. It said four warplanes flew over the southernmost coastal town of Naqoura, hovered for several hours over villages in southern Lebanon before leaving the country's airspace.
“There was definitely a hit in the border area,” the source told Reuters on condition of anonymity, without elaborating further.
It said similar flights by eight other warplanes were conducted Tuesday.
The Israel Defense Forces refused to confirm or deny the report. "We do not comment on reports of this kind," an IDF spokeswoman said.

Over the past week, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of IAF planes sighted in the airspace of Lebanon, which borders Syria. At least 12 jet missions were reported by the Lebanese military.
The reports come amid concerns voiced by Israeli officials that Syrian chemical weapons and anti-aircraft missiles could fall into the hands of Hezbollah militants in Lebanon.
Israel recently threatened to launch a preemptive strike on Syria if the Assad regime loses control of its chemical weapons stockpiles. The moment that Israelis “begin to understand” that chemical weapons are about to be seized by Hezbollah or Syrian rebels, the decision to take preventive military intervention could be made, Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Silvan Shalom said on Sunday.

Or then zionists don´t want that possible chemical weapons go to the hands of Syrian rebellions as well. Even they hasn´t contacts to Hizballah, they represent islamic powers in the area. The chaos inside the neighbor countries is the best to zionists.

Just my opinions.

I agree, thats what they want when a country isnt unified and strong it wont pose a threat to israel. Egypt is currently in a strife also, between anti-morsi and pro-morsi supporters. Jordan also on the brink of civil war, syria already is. And who does the gun running? The west, KSA, qatar, turkey and israel. and russia to Assad

As it is said: Divide et impera - divide and conquer. Just same what zionists are doing to Palestinians too - keep them fighting together (like Fatah and Hamas) and then it is easy to control the whole situation. Zionists seem to hope that Syrians will fight together next 10 years.

Masha'Allah u seem to understand well what happens :) This tactic is not only from zionists though, the whole west is playing this game its for resources and to prevent any islamic uprising or unification between countries.

Same done hundreds of years ago, to supply arms for rebellion against the ottoman caliphate.

Thanks for sharing Jedi.

I personally believe that Israel does not want to attack Syria or Iran directly. They don't want the war to break out in the entire Middle East because had they really wanted a war they would have attacked Iran directly who is the main source of power for Syria and Hezbollah.

But what they usually do is what we call 'scare tactics' Every now and then they would either violate Lebanon's airspace or Syrias to scare them, or attack a small target near Lebanon's or Syrias border every now an then to make them restless.

If they would do an all out attack they would only do it to areas like Gaza who has no military power unlike any other country in the region, which has an army, airforce and navy.

Or they would attack Flotilla ship. And why would they attack especially when the Proxies backed by Saudi Arabia and Qatar are doing the job for them in Syria.

But the moment they think and know it is easy to do an overall attack may be they would, you never know.
