And He gave you of all that you asked for, and if you count the Blessings of Allah, never will you be able to count them. Verily! Man is indeed an extreme wrong-doer, - a disbeliever (an extreme ingrate, denies Allah's Blessings by disbelief, and by worshipping others besides Allah, and by disobeying Allah and His Prophet Muhammad SAW). 14:34

Each abd eer one of us should be grateful to our Lord for the life that He has given. He has chosen us to live in this world and He has given us a chance to live forever. He has given us everything that we have asked for and yet we are so ungrateful. He tells us in the Holy Qur'an that when He grants us a blessing or a provison due to our dua'a then immediately afterwards we forget all about Him. Did you know that waking up in the morning after sleep is a blessing? He takes our souls at night and by His Will He returns it to our bodies, therefore we do not really know when we are to die. Every second that we are alive is a blessing. How many of us say Alhamdulilah when we wake up? The food we eat and the water that we drink every day are a provision from Him, yet how many of us say Alhamdulilah after our beliies are full?

Saying Alhamdulilah is also a way to remember Him throughout the day. Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala orders us to rememer Him much in the day. By remembering Him you are also keeping shaytan away.

It doesn't cost anything and it doesn't take much effort, so remember to always say Alhamdulilah.

We get too caught up with the things that that are worrying us that we forget the blessings of Allah upon us and we forget what Allah has said: “If you express gratitude, I shall certainly give you more" [14:7]
