Assalammualykum,

I'm Is.
I'm from Malaysia and I'm a muslim.
I join the board because insyallah I want to contribute a little in path of dakwah.
As you guys know, being born as muslim tend to make people like me take things for granted. I always move by those converter because of their journey to Islam.

Having said that. As you guys know, I'm from Malaysia and my native language is Malay. I find difficult to translate a certain tems like "halal", "haram", "sunat", "harus", "makruh" and cetera. This term come naturally for me but I do not know the English use of it.
So I hope anyone familiar with these terms can tell me the English use of this term so that I can use them so people will understand me.

halal : lawful

haram : forbidden

sunat : Prophetic traditions

"harus : sorry , don't know

makruh : disliked / detestable

halal , haram , Sunnat , makruh - these are commonly used ; so I think most participants will understand these.

Harus = Obligated. The Islamic word for it is "Wajib".
