Sylheti is more straight forward I say. I understand dhakai but can't really speak it. Same with Urdu and Hindi. Can
Understand but not speak. It's funny coz sometimes I'm in a shop and they speak thinking I can't understood and I just grin at them :-D

there was a written format of Slyheti , most probably name is Nagri lipi . Now nobody writes in this written form but in latest book fair , I found that someone published some books in old Sylheti language with bangla translation .

haha it reminds me of a funny incident . Once my friend was in a microbus with my mom and anuties . Later mom told me I did not nocite ur friend was there as I was talking to ur aunites . Did she follow our conversation ? We might talked about her niece who was also with her .

my teacher recites the most beautiful heart touching poetry in bengali during dhikr sessions. softens the heart.

also there is a book of my teachers experiences with the poor world whuch is unseen by us spoiled people... and fthe language melts the heart as do the incidents of course

i remember once i was with a group of bengali boys in college and i said

and they all looked at each other then started chanting "ram ram ram ram" and laughing.

Well Punjabi is not Urdu its different ppl here in paki land speak Urdu,Punjabi,pashto,balochi,Sindhi, hindko and memoni I all of these r different. just Cuz my parents r Punjabi that's the reason y I understand it. Can't speak much though. Not all paki ppl cn speak Punjabi only those living in the Punjab province can or those whose parents or grandparent's r Punjabi's.

I speak Sylheti, due to the majority of the Bengali's in this city speaking Sylheti, but back in my home city, the family speak Shuddho.. I just have to remember which dialect to switch between dependent on the relative I'm speaking to.
I can understand and used to be able to hold fluent conversations in Shuddho, but have been out of practice for a while now..
I also end up mixing Urdu with my Bangla and English.. Speaking Binglish..:D:D
