:sl:

So when I pray the 4 sunnah of zuhr, in the second rakat I say attihiyatu and then I get up and continue with the salah. However, I heard that you are supposed to pray the 4 rakat sunnah in twos. So in the second rakat ypu are supposed to say attahiyatu, then the duas and say the salams. And then when you get up for the third rakat say subhanakallah humma wa bihamdika etc.

So am I praying it wrong? I'm hanafi by the way.

The method you mentioned is when you pray the prayers as 2 rakaat each but If you combine the 4 rakaats together, then in the qa'adah (sitting) after the 2nd rakaat you read the attahiyaat till the shaahaada and DO NOT read the durood and prayer, get up, and then do not also read the sanaa (subhanakallah humma wa bihamdika ), after then just start the 3rd rakaat with the fateha....

This applies to all prayers, regardless of it being Duhr or Asr.It doesn't have anything to do with Hanafi Madhab

so is it fine to pray like this then? Because someone told me that I was praying wrong (praying all 4 together).

Sis,I am not an Aalim nor a Mufti neither an Imam, only they can tell you with authority. However, the way I mentioned is how I pray and used to see others pray and being taught to pray and never seen/read rejected by anyone,so on and so forth.

According to my knowledge its fine and Allah Knows best.
