I understand this but you have to be "savvy" ..meaning...you walk in, ask about a product, act interested.. they tell you everything you need to know about it...etc..then you say you will think about it,leave...and buy it online.

Assalamu Alaikum,

It looks like a brass T with 2 female ends (for the hot and cold water braided hoses) with a compression fitting (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compression_fitting) on top (to connect to the thermostatic mixing valve or “blender” valve) via a metal tube.

They come in an assortment of sizes, due to different plumbing standards throughout the years.

If the compression ring is damaged, you'll also need a cheap tool called a pipe cutter (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pipe_cutter) to replace it and then some plumbers tape.(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thread_seal_tape)

If you have to cut a lot off, then you'll need a new tube or longer hot/cold hoses.

Best thing would be to take the old tee into the shop with you due to the sizing variations. (Any decent hardware store should have it in stock and they are not too expensive).

I have a brother who works in hardware stores. The part I think you are referring to is the central pipe or connecting pipe. No fancy name for it actually :D.

Anyways I am not sure exactly what part you are referring to anyways. I can tell your in a hurry and panicking most likely. But if you need more help then message me.

I deal with this stuff all the time thanks to second hand experience.
