View Full Version : Money in the Eyes of Prophet Muhammad

MUHAMMAD THE GR
10-07-2013, 09:02 PM
Prophet Muhammad taught his adherents how their approaches towards money should be; he taught them how to earn money and what sources they should follow. In his hadith he tells us that no one will be admitted to leave the place of reckoning on the last Day before he is asked about four things:
His lifetime, in what way he spent his lifetime. Also he will be asked about his youth and how he spent it.
Then came the third Question which is about money; how did he earn it and how he spent it. These four question has effect on the person the prophet spiritually teaches.
Since we talk about money we will shed some light on two questions: the lifetime and the money.
He also taught them that one should earn money and save some to leave for his children after his death. He says it is better for you to leave your children rich lest they beg people for what they need." This is a good way to persuade his adherents to work and earn so that that they suffice their children after his death.
He also teaches us that "whoever finds pains in his hands after a long day of tiring work, his sins will be forgiven." In this way he urged them to work.
Inspired by the revelations, prophet Muhammad determined where should a Muslim spend his money. God says what means:
Say, "Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good [lawful] things of provision?" Say, "They are for those who believe during the worldly life [but] exclusively for them on the Day of Resurrection." Thus do We detail the verses for a people who know.
So a person should spend moderately, he should not be extravagant nor should he be a miser, this should be within what the following verse inspires:And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate
Then came the wider sphere of spending money to which the prophet, inspired by the Quran revelations, guided his adherents to
They ask you, [O Muhammad], what they should spend. Say, "Whatever you spend of good is [to be] for parents and relatives and orphans and the needy and the traveler. And whatever you do of good - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it."
This was the answer of the revelations on the tongue of prophet Muhammad regarding how man can spend his money surplus.
