Time to look within?

This is a quote from br. Signor's post, an extract from the thread "Is he Muslim?"

The Imam remained quite pensive for a while, then he smiled and said, “Have you not heard the hadith of the Prophet (may God’s peace and blessings be upon him) wherein he said, “Think good of the believers (Zunnu bi’l-mu’minīna khayran)”. He continued and said, “If a man’s faith can be divided into 100 parts, and if 99 of them are corrupted and false, and even one is sound and whole, then we look at that sound part first, disregard the other 99 parts, and consider him as a believer.”

While the world around us and also within the forum goes around splitting hairs at times, we forget this important message.

There is also other parallel and tangent considerations and a possible host of other applications too.

One, it is not for us to judge. If we judge wrong, it is almost like fitnah.
Two, does not mean we do not have to try and improve the other 99, one at a time...
Three, there is hope for all of us...

I think, in the main, out of the 100 parts as is mentioned, this forum has at least 60 good parts? Higher even? (Then again, I'm still relatively new here).

Perhaps our dakwah should also look at not just spreading the knowledge of islam, but also to work on the positives within the deen itself. To spread the knowledge of hadiths such as this in a collection to remind people again how to live in society. How to make peace and have the deterrents to ensure the peace, harsh as it may seem.
