Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

(Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam)

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuhu

I am planning on reciting surah ikhlas 100 times everyday.

1)

I need to know is it necessary to read Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem

before every time i recite surah ikhlas?

OR

2)

I read Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem (once in the start) and recite surah ikhlas 100 times without reading Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem?

Is 2nd way okay?

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuhu

As far as I know, Bismillah every time.

Which brings us to the question, why are some imams not reading bismillah at the start of Surahs in Prayer?

Again, as far as I know, it is not 'compulsory' to read aloud, so it can be read silently like what they do in the day time prayers.
