Can i marry a non-Muslim woman or man ?

Bismallah ar-Rahaman ar-Raheem ,
el sallam alikum borthers and sisters :)

so all praises to be to Allah (the Lord of the worlds) , i ask Allah to guide to the all good in this post and all my life as yours

a marriage is very important event in our life because you will insha`Allah share your whole life with a person that you've chosen ( so i ask Allah to guide all of us to the right decision )

there are too many brothers and sisters ask could i marry a non-Muslim man or woman , i am going to answer it insha`Allah according to :

so Allah told us in the Holy Quran about the marriage

For man : [ فَانْكِحُوا مَا طَابَ لَكُمْ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ مَثْنَى وَثُلَاثَ وَرُبَاعَ ﴾ [النساء: 3]"then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four" 4:3 . that's mean that ( you can marry only 4 women ) if you can be fair in dealing with them and if you can't to be fair so that 1 woman is better for you .


there are only 2 types of women you can marry and 1 girl you can't :

no.1 You can marry a Muslim woman (the best) :

because she will be in your same religion so that you will be comfortable in everything she does because you know carefully your religion instructions and Allah told us in the Holy Quran also "And do not marry polytheistic women until they believe. And a believing slave woman is better than a polytheist, even though she might please you. And do not marry polytheistic men [to your women] until they believe" 2:221

So from this Aya we can conclude that to marry a Muslim woman is better for you

no.2 you can marry a woman from the people of book ( Christian or Jewish )

this is allowed too but as we said before that the Muslim woman is better because you will be sure of what she always does and because if you died ( may she will convert your kids to her religion so they may loss the way after you die and as we know there is no any right religion except Islam )

no.3 the atheist woman

it is not allowed to marry her till she converts to Islam
so Allah told us in the Holy Quran
{ وَلا تُمْسِكُوا بِعِصَمِ الْكَوَافِرِ } [الممتحنة:10] " And hold not to marriage bonds with disbelieving women," 60:10
{ وَلا تَنكِحُوا الْمُشْرِكَاتِ حَتَّى يُؤْمِنَّ } [البقرة:221]"And do not marry polytheistic women until they believe. And a believing slave woman is better than a polytheist, even though she might please you. And do not marry polytheistic men [to your women] until they believe" 2:221

from these Ayas we can conclude that we can't marry the atheist woman but we can marry ( Christian and Jewish ) and the Muslim woman is the best as Allah told us in the Holy Quran : [ فَانْكِحُوا مَا طَابَ لَكُمْ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ مَثْنَى وَثُلَاثَ وَرُبَاعَ ﴾ [النساء: 3]"then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four" 4:3
