Praying at night or Qiyam Alayl (قيام الليل) in Arabic is one of my favorite prayers in Islam, I started praying Qiyam Alayl last year for about 6 months, at first it was really difficult! But it becomes easy when you get used to it, what I noticed while practicing it is I was full of energy and didn’t need to sleep as much hours as before, unfortunately I didn’t continue.

Anyone practice this worship act? And what did you benefit from it?

I tried, several times and although felt good after having done it but it's too easy to lapse and very difficult to re-start. Have not done it in recent months..imsad

What I would like to really learn and do is the istikharah prayers. I feel as though I am losing out in not knowing and applying this 'gift' that Allah has given us in helping us decide on the best course of action for us. If everything we do is with the 'blessings' and 'guidance' of Allah, our Creator, Sustainer and is the Best of Planners, how can we not lead a rewarding and fulfilling life?

Alas, I have yet to do my first iskaharah...
