This is the property of MBC channel. I loved their effort and am also aware of the fact that many Muslims don't approve of showing Sahabis. I for myself am neutral. Of course I would not want Rasool Allah to be shown. I just ardently wish that the Muslim directors find some way of representing these great legends in an acceptable way, with the battle scenes of as high quality as "300 or gladiator" etc movies. People due to the media are taking as role models or getting inspired by Kufar heroes or those not-so-great people shown as out of proportion legendary. Whereas OUR muslim, Allah-fearing heroes are the REAL heroes in all sense of the word! It's not that their representation would increase or decrease them in their praise. It would only serve as a purpose of awareness and introduction which is so extremely needed nowadays. (Muslim kids know about holywood heroes more than the name of companions of Rasool Allah! So if media can become the way of Islamic Dawah then let it be!!)
