Hello friends,

Could you please suggest some good books on the achievements of the Golden Age of Islam. I am looking for definitive works focussing on the philological, scientific, and philosophical highlites of the era, (e.g. the House of Wisdom) rather than a dry history of the age.
Thanks a lot.

Greetings maldoror,

I'm not sure what exactly you are looking for, but perhaps the following could be an interesting introduction to the topic. You can find this on Amazon.

1001 Inventions: Muslim Heritage in Our World

by Sir Roland Jackson (Foreword), Salim T.S. Al-Hassani (Editor)

(smile) But if you want a glimpse of the greatest beauty of Islam, I would suggest you read a translation of the Qur'an. Also to be found on Amazon.

The Meaning of the Holy Qur'an in Today's English

by Yahiya Emerick

(smile) May God Bless you in your research.
