before any major change takes place, revolution is expected - there are two revolutionary groups outside of the Royal house. One wants khilafa, the other wants liberal western democracy...

...and then you got the House of Saud itself, which is a Monarchy, and it's not willing to give its power up so easily.

The Monarchy and the Grand Mufti are pretty close to a caliphate but a liberal democracy would be very radical, what would they do, build a McDonalds on top of the Kaba and adopt the US modern amended to destruction cultural Marxist constitution?
