Ayra = respected, honored, blessed. It's a female name.

This name is common enough among Muslims. Originally from Arabic.

:salam:

Ayra (actually `A'irah), which can also be spelled as Ayrah, in Arabic means something without an owner or whose owner is unknown, this is the only Arabic word that sounds like Ayra. According to some Islamic name sites Ayra means respectable, but this seems to be the Sindhi meaning of this name with a Chinese origin, though they put it as the Arabic meaning.

Looking up the meanings of derivatives of the same root in Arabic as given in the above link, they don't seem to have nice meanings.

The root itself doesn't seem to be that common, and I think the name is likely to be very uncommon in Arabic. Perhaps it is common in other cultures. Some sites say it's an Urdu word, but it doesn't seem to be.

Allah knows best.
