Salams

I learnt in school today that the first human beings that used tools (spears, hammers for example) like we do date up to 2 million years ago. Wow that is such a long time I thought. I am a bit confused why then our prophet PBUH only came 600 years ago? Same is Jesus PBUH came only 2000 years ago, but still such a long gap between them and our ancestors. Can one brother or sister please explain why very few prophets then between 2 million years ago and them? which religion did they follow for such long time?

thanksyou

How do you know there were very few?

Allah says:

And [We sent] messengers about whom We have related [their stories] to you before and messengers about whom We have not related to you. And Allah spoke to Moses with [direct] speech. (Qur'an 4:164)

And We have already sent messengers before you. Among them are those [whose stories] We have related to you, and among them are those [whose stories] We have not related to you... (40:78, part)

And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allah and avoid Taghut." ...(16:38, part)

And for every nation is a messenger. So when their messenger comes, it will be judged between them in justice, and they will not be wronged (10:47)

Allah has said there are messengers that he hasn't told us about, and that every people had a messenger... so potentially there could be lots, throughout the ages, that we don't know about.

Allah knows best.

Our prophet came not 600 years ago, more like 1400 plus years ago. .
