Indonesia Hospital in Gaza

Alhamdulillah, after three and a half years of building process, finally the Indonesia Hospital in Gaza ready for operational and has been handed over to Palestinian Ministry of Health on June 15, 2015.

The hospital built on the land that given by Palestinian govt, on initiative of MER-C (Medical Emergency Rescue Committee) Indonesia. It has two storeys with 90 beds and equipped with 128 slices CT-Scan. It spent around 10 millions dollar for construction and equipment which all of the money donated purely by Indonesian people. There's no govt aid or other countries aid.

Hopefully this hospital will give benefit for the people of Gaza. Hopefully this hospital will become the symbol of ukhuwah (brotherhood) between Indonesian and Palestinian people.

I contributed too in early of 2012 when I performed salah ashar in a masjid in my city. Just very small amount that I took spontaneously from my wallet when I saw donation box and a banner about that hospital building plan. But that's how the donation the came, just small amount, but from many people. So the total amount was enough to build that hospital.

Ameen. What makes me happy is, this hospital was not built by government, or by one or few millionaires, but built by ordinary people who donated their money in small amounts. But these small amount became bigger because collected from many people.

Small contribution will be very meaningful if people contribute together.

So many charities out there, and initiatives such as this, usually we don't hear of the end result. It's great to know they succeeded.
