:sl:

I want to start this thread to list 101 ways we can do dhikr of Allah! List a different idea each time and the goal is to reach 101 before the end of Ramadan so we can implement ideas during this blessed month.

I'll start with 5:

1. Tasbeeh after Salah
2. Tasbeeh during chores
3. Tasbeeh while driving
4. Istighfar while walking to masjid
5. Tasbeeh while waiting at the check out line in stores

Great thread idea!

6. Tasbeeh while sitting

7. Tasbeeh while lying down

[4:103 Surah An Nisa] "And when you have completed the prayer, remember Allah standing, sitting, or [lying] on your sides. But when you become secure, re-establish [regular] prayer. Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times."

8. Tasbeeh with your spouse

9. Tasbeeh before sleeping

It was narrated from 'Ali [رضى الله عنه], “Fatimah [رضى الله عنها] complained about the pain caused to her hand by the mill, and some prisoners had been brought to the Prophet [صلّى الله عليه و سلّم], so she went but did not find him, but she met A'ishah and told her.

When the Prophet [صلّى الله عليه و سلّم] came, A'ishah told him about Fatimah coming to her. The Prophet came to us, and we had gone to bed. We started to get up, but the Prophet [صلّى الله عليه و سلّم] said: “Stay where you are.” Then he sat between us, until I could feel the coolness of his foot on my chest. Then he said:

“Shall I not teach you something better than what you asked for? When you go to your bed, magnify Allah thirty-four times, glorify Him thirty-three times and praise Him thirty-three times. That is better for you than a servant.””
[Sahih Bukhari: 3502 and Muslim: 2727]

10. Tasbeeh at the time of anger, to ward the influences of shaytan.

Sulayman ibn Sad said: “I was sitting with the Prophet [صلّى الله عليه و سلّم], and two men were slandering one another. One of them was red in the face, and the veins on his neck were standing out. The Prophet [صلّى الله عليه و سلّم] said, ‘I know a word which, if he were to say it, what he feels would go away. If he said “I seek refuge with Allah from the Shaytan,” what he feels ( i.e., his anger) would go away.’” (Reported by Al-Bukhari, Al-Fath, 6/337)

The Prophet (pbuh) said: “If a man gets angry and says, ‘I seek refuge with Allah,’ his anger will go away.” (Saheeh Al-Jaami’ Al-Sagheer, no. 695)

when the heart remembers, there is no need to keep count - the angel on your right shoulder is recording, so, reflect, and contemplate the Asma al Husna with the utmost devotion... so reflect:

Allah says in the Qur'an,

And it is He Who spread out the earth, and placed therein firm mountains and rivers and of every kind of fruits He made Zawjain Ithnain (two in pairs - may mean two kinds or it may mean: of two sorts, e.g. black and white, sweet and sour, small and big, etc.) He brings the night as a cover over the day. Verily, in these things, there are Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) for people who reflect. - Qur'an 13:3

So, wherever you are, magnify the Greatness of your Lord:

So reflect on HIS greatness and Mercy to us, HIS creation.

I really recommend learning the Dhikr below and doing it after every Prayer:

Ibn `Abbas reported from Juwayriyah that the Prophet (peace be upon him) came out early when he offered the Subh [Morning] Salah while she was in her praying place. Then he returned after the forenoon while she was (still) sitting (doing Dhikr). Thereupon, he said: "Are you still in the same position as I left you. I replied in the affirmative. Thereupon, the Prophet said: I recited four words three times after I had left you. If these are to be weighed against all you have recited since morning, these will be heavier (Subhanallah!). These are: Subhan-Allahi Wa Bihamdihi, `Adada Khalqihi, Wa Rida Nafsihi, Wa Zinatah `Arshihi, Wa Midada Kalimatihi [Allah is free from imperfection and I begin with His praise, as many times as the number of His creatures, in accordance with His Good Pleasure, equal to the weight of His Throne and equal to the ink that may be used in recording the words (for His Praise)]."

- In another narration: Subhan Allah `Adada Khalqih [Glory be to Allah as many times as the number of His Creatures], Subhan Allah Rida Nafsih [Glory be to Allah as the pleasure of His Self], Subhan Allah Zinat `Arshih [Glory be to Allah equal to the weight of His Throne], Subhan Allah Midad Kalimatih [Glory be to Allah equal to the ink that may be used in recording the words (for His Praise)]. [Reported by Muslim in the book of Dhikr, invocation, repentance, and asking for Allah's forgiveness, chapter on glorifications at the beginning of the day and when going to sleep 8/83].

Why did this stop

Dhiukr in terms of rememberence of Allah MIGHT even mean being aware of Allah or having Taqwa
so
70-Dhikr is I believe reading an islamic book
71-Dhikr is even watching a lecture I believe, that glorifies the lord
72-Dhikr can even be when we are teaching our children about Allah
73-Dhikr can even be simply sending text messages reminding friends about Quran, and glorifying the lord
74-Dhikr can even be helping someone for the sake of Allah

Sa’d bin Abu Waqqas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) when he asked, “Is anyone of you unable to earn a thousand good deeds?” One of those present asked: “How can one earn thousand good deeds in a day?” He (PBUH) replied, “By saying: Subhan Allah a hundred times, then one thousand good deeds will be recorded for him or one thousand sins will be blotted out from his record.” (Muslim)
