We all forget. Thus we need constant reminders. Whether it be via the revelation itself, word of mouth or something simple as this thread.

"And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers." (51:55)

Praying Salah in the very beginning of its time slot, will enable one to gain the blessings of Allah, this is because a Muslim rushes to pray on time without any delay. This shows the servants piousness and his seriousness towards his obedience to Allah, and shows the understanding that the very important part of his life is to pray.

In our journey to gain tranquility of the heart, we explored what we need to know when faced with difficult situations. We need to understand that Allah has told us we will be tested, that these tests are for a reason, and that there will be relief insha?Allah (God willing).

Who among us does not sin? And who among us does all that is required of him in the religion? It is an undeniable fact that we all have shortcomings; what distinguishes some of us from the others, what raises some of us above the others, is that the successful ones among us are those who repent for their sins and ask Allah to forgive them.

Allah wants His sincere and faithful servants to trust Him in every circumstance. Indeed, all Prophets encountered many difficulties and much enmity while spreading Allah's message within their unbelieving communities. And yet they always maintained their brave and resolute attitude for, seeking only Allah's good pleasure, they took refuge in Allah.
Allah informs us that He helps those who help His religion. There will always be people who fight believers and follow Satan. They may hatch plots to harm believers and strive to break their zeal with offensive words and slanders. Yet they can never attain their goals, for their plans are feeble next to Allah's infinite power and wisdom. Allah, Who knows and sees all the details of every plot, helps the patient and resolute believers who befriend Him and enables them to attain the best. This metaphysical phenomenon is incomprehensible to unbelievers. In this way, believers who trust in Allah attain great spiritual and physical strength.

There are many, many other instances in the Quran where this love and respect to the Messenger (saw) is shown and each is a lesson on its own. Allah (swt) has a truly special way of addressing His beloved Messenger in the Quran. What we should try to take away from this is implementing the adab and respect in our own lives towards the Messenger (swt) whenever we speak about him (swt), mention his seerah, or quote ahadeeth. This is what we have from him (swt) today and it is equivalent in the level of adab and respect it requires. Sometimes we might get carried away and start quoting hadeeth to each other back and forth to prove a certain point or refute someone but when was the last time that we thought about the mannerism we are employing when quoting the statements of the Messenger (saws) If Allah (swt) Himself addresses His Messenger (saws) with such respect, it is only imperative after all that we too show the same level of respect and honor when we mention him (saws). Don't forget your salawat today. Keep repeating it.

Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, a show and boasting among yourselves, a quest for greater riches and more children. Its similitude is that of vegetation that flourish after rain: the growth of which delights the tillers, then it withers and you see it turn yellow, soon it becomes dry and crumbles away. In the hereafter there will be either severe punishment or forgiveness from Allah and His good pleasure. The life of this world is nothing but an illusion. Quran [57:20]

Similarly, his Rightly-Guided Caliphs did not celebrate his birthday, and the rest of Sahabah (may Allah be pleased with them all) who were the most knowledgeable, loved the Prophet (peace be upon him) more than anyone of us, and were the most well-informed of his Sunnah did not celebrate it.If you really want to celebrate the birth of the Prophet saws then fast on every Monday as he used to.

We should make a firm resolution, now, here from today we want to become the Friends of Allah and we want to remain the Friends of Allah until our departure from this world. Allah is the best friend, because His Friendship will be beneficial, not only in this world but also in the Hereafter. How can one become the Friend of Allah Ta'ala? Who is the Friend of Allah?

How strange and foolish is man. He looses his health in gaining wealth. Then to regain health he wastes his wealth. He ruins his present while worrying about his future - but weeps in the future by recalling his past.He lives as though death shall never come to him - but dies in a way as if he were never born.

One of the signs of a strong emaan is that one has a soft & pure heart, and of the signs of weak emaan is that one has a hard heart! The heart is the main organ of our spirituality and relationship with Allah. It is as simple as making dua to Allah subhanahu wa ta'la (glorified and exalted be He) for things to go the right in your life. The only thing that Allah subhanahu wa ta'la (glorified and exalted be He) asks in return is your gratitude to Him. Make it a habit to say 'Alhamdulillah' at every good news or at every good turn in your life. Not to forget, be thankful to Allah subhanahu wa ta'la (glorified and exalted be He) for saving you from any calamity also.
In seeking to thank Allah subhanahu wa ta'la (glorified and exalted be He), not only do you please Him, but you are sure to receive success in return in abundance. Do not forget, Allah subhanahu wa ta'la (glorified and exalted be He) loves those who thank Him. Be grateful throughout your day. When you wake up in the morning, when you eat or drink, when you give charity and more so when you listen to the Quran, always say 'Alhamdulillah'.

During hardships and calamities, it is natural to get swept away by the affliction of the moment. During such trials of faith, unless we are careful, Satan can inject fear and plant doubts in our hearts and minds.
Our beliefs in such vulnerable states may become overpowered by feelings of the moment resulting in the dwindling of our faith. Some of us start questioning the fairness and wisdom underlying such divine decisions while others get mired in a blame game.
All in all, we may find ourselves lost, helpless, and stalled finding it difficult to gather ourselves and move forward.

It will truly wake you up everyday to be better servants of Allah Almighty Insha'Allah!Take a deep breath and read it slow!"The most beloved of people according to Allah is he who brings most benefit, and the most beloved of deeds according to Allah the Mighty, the Magnificent, is that you bring happiness to a fellow Muslim, or relieve him of distress, or pay off his debt or stave away hunger from him.It is more beloved to me that I walk with my brother in his time of need than I stay secluded in the mosque for a month.Whoever holds back his anger, Allah will cover his faults and whoever suppresses his fury while being able to execute it, Allah will fill his heart with satisfaction on the Day of Standing.Whoever walks with his brother Muslim in need until he establishes that for him, Allah will establish his feet firmly on the day when all feet shall slip.Indeed, bad character ruins deeds just as vinegar ruins honey."- Prophet Muhammad (S)(Reported by Imam At-Tabarani)

Sadly, some people are guilty of thinking in this manner: "Those I see around me perpetrate minor sins, while I am guilty of perpetrating major sins, so what is the use of repenting?!" True, such a person does well by finding fault with his own self, yet he makes a grave, ruinous error when he loses hope, when he underestimates Allah?s Forgiveness and Mercy. To be sure, the door of repentance is open both to the perpetrator of minor sins and to the perpetrator of major sins.

1 Praying in congregation in the mosque
2 Attending funerals and offering the funeral prayer
3 Saying "Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulk wa lahul-hamd wa huwa ala kulli shayin qadeer" (There is no god but Allaah alone, with no partner or associate; His is the Dominion, to Him be all praise, and He is able to do all things) one hundred times each day.
4 Upholding the ties of kinship
5 Observing voluntary fasts, visiting the sick and giving charity.
6 Saying Subhaan Allaah wa bi hamdih (Praise and glory be to Allaah) one hundred times.
7 Tasbeeh, tahmeed and takbeer, and enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil, and praying Duha.

O who is deeply sad and depressed; O who is needy, to whom are you going to resort for relieving your worries? Do not you seek your Lord's assistance, Who is Closer to you than the jugular vein Have not you read in His book: "and when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me." (Al Baqara: 186). Certainly the Glorious is He responds to those who turn to and supplicate to Him, and, by His favour, does not disappoint them. So be keen to insist in invoking Allah as the Prophet pbuh used to do.

Patience is the foundation of the believer's faith which has no other foundation. The one who has no patience has no faith, and if he has any, then it is only a little faith and it is very weak, and such a person worships Allaah as it were upon the edge (i.e. in doubt): if good befalls him, he is content therewith; but if a trial befalls him he turns back on his face (i.e. reverts to disbelief after embracing Islam). He loses both this world and the Hereafter (cf. al-Hajj 22:11). All he gets from them is a losing deal.

The time of rain is a period of Rahmah from Allah, it is an opportune time for one to make du'a. Consider the opportunities for those living in the parts of the world where rainfall is aplenty, while others rarely see it. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said: Du'aa is answered when rain is falling, when battle in joined, when the adhaan and iqaamah are given, following prayers, when prostrating, and when offered by one who is fasting, one who is travelling and one who is oppressed, and so on. All of this is narrated in well-known ahaadeeth in the books of Saheeh and Sunan.

Islam considers freedom to be a natural right of the human being. Life becomes devoid of worth when freedom is not present. When a person loses his freedom, his inner self dies, even though on the outside, he continues to live; eating, drinking, working, and going through the other motions of life.Islam elevates freedom to such a level that it has made free thought the proper way of recognizing God's existence.

There is a major barrier that's blocking many Muslims from getting closer to Allah and improving their relationship with Him. This barrier is losing hope in the mercy of Allah.*

Sometimes people think that Allah will never forgive them because of the multitude of their sins. As a result, they slacken in performing their acts of worship and some even abandon them as they lose hope in attaining the mercy of Allah. However, Allah, The Exalted has said:

Say, O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful. (Surah Az-Zumar, Ayah 53)

Remember to repent and seek forgiveness before it is too late as we do not know the time of our departure from this world. Use Ramadan, the best of months to remove such feelings from your heart and always keep your hopes high with Allah.*

The Qur'an is the nourishment of every person's soul, the light of the heart and guidance to the straight path.

Allah SWT says:
"Indeed, this Qur'an guides to that which is most suitable."
[Qur'an: Chapter 17, Verse 9]

Whenever you feel like you are losing your energy and that your performance is starting to drop, quickly turn to the Qur'an and you will always find a way out. The Qur'an explains what a person can do to recharge one's Iman. Whenever you open the Qur'an, recite at least one verse of it, and look for help in that verse because there is guidance in every verse of the Qur'an.

The Ramadan fast is one of the biggest enemies of the Nafs. For each person who wishes to walk the path that leads to bliss, he has to realize that one of the ways to achieve that is through disciplining his Nafs. He has to realize that it is the biggest enemy of a believer. More importantly, he has to understand that the devotion of a believer lies not only in completing his obligations, but also avoiding sins.

The Nafs is the one thing that drives us to obey carnal desires instead of using our limbs to perform acts of devotion. It makes us choose the things which are more comfortable and easier for us instead of the hardships which a believer should endure. For example; at the end of the night, we usually find it more comfortable to continue sleeping instead of leaving the comfort of our mattresses to enjoy the hardship of our prayer mats - that is the Nafs talking. It clouds our judgement, prioritizes temporary comforts over the eternal bliss that is the akhirah.

A person should ask his Lord for whatever he wants of the good things in this world and the Hereafter, and he should beseech Allah in du'a, and not seek a hasty response, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"The slave will receive a response so long as his du'a does not involve sin or severing of family ties, and so long as he is not hasty."
It was said, "What does being hasty mean?" He said: "When he says, 'I made du'a and I made du'a, and I have not seen any response,' and he gets frustrated and stops making du'a." Narrated by al-Bukhari, 6340; Muslim, 2735.

Understand what you're reciting.

You don't have to be a scholar to understand what you're reciting. We should make the effort to understand at least some of what is read during salah.

For example, Surah al-Fatihah is something we all read during salah but do we know what, "Iyyaka na'a budu wa-iyyaka nasta aeen" means? (You {Alone} we worship, and You {Alone} we ask for help [for each and everything]. This Surah is also fairly short and therefore not difficult to remember.

Once we understand what we are reading during salah even if it's not all of what is read, then we will find that sweetness you obtain from salah {with Allah's grace} through understanding what we are saying. This can only allow us to become closer to Him.

That is why it is highly recommended to get a copy of the translation of the Quran (the more recent translations include backgrounds) so you understand what you're reading as well as the story behind it. This will, inshaAllah, increase the enjoyment we receive from our recitation during Salah.

Islam teaches Muslims that giving in secret is far superior to giving publicly, and that drawing attention to one's charitable actions is a highly undesirable quality. The Prophet said: "Allah loves the God-fearing rich man [who gives much in charity but still] remains obscure and uncelebrated." (Muslim)

Giving charity in secret is best when giving charity that is voluntary (Sadaqah). Regarding voluntary charity, God says in the second chapter of the Quran:
"If you disclose your Sadaqaat (almsgiving), it is well; but if you conceal them and give them to the poor, that is better for you." [Quran 2:271]

lionofallah:
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
“I swear by Him in whose hand is my soul, if you were a people who did not commit sin, Allah would take you away and replace you with a people who would sin and then seek Allah’s forgiveness so He could forgive them.”

[Sahīh Muslim-(2687)]

Allah already has a creation which is sinless. He has the angels who “never disobey Allah in what He commands them and carry out whatever they are told to do.” [Sūrah al-Tahrīm: 6] they glorify Allah without fail. Some are standing in prayer, some are bowing, and some are in prostration saying: “Glory be to the the possessor of the dominion and its possessions! Glory be to the possessor of might and irresistible power. Glory be to the Living One who never dies!”-

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“I see and hear what you do not. The heavens heaved, and they have a right to do so, since there is not a place the width of a hand span that is not occupied by an angel prostrating his forehead to Allah.”

[Sunan al-Tirmidhī-(2312) and-Sunan Ibn Mājah-(4190)]-
In spite of all this, Allah in His wisdom wanted to create beings besides the angels – human beings who would need to be guided to the proper path and who were capable of going astray.-Allah says:
“Lo! We have shown him the way, whether he be grateful or disbelieving.” [Sūrah al-Insān: 3]
This is the nature upon which Allah created the human being. It is unavoidable that people will err. Therefore Allah has permitted us to ask His forgiveness. Indeed, He exhorts us to do so, and He promises us His forgiveness.-

We should make it a habit to seek Allah’s forgiveness as often as we can. Constancy in beseeching forgiveness is a cure for the maladies of the heart as well as a means of having our sins erased.-

How much Allah is willing to forgive us can be seen in the following hadith related in-Sahīh al-Bukhārī-and-Sahīh Muslim:
Someone committed a sin and then said: “O Allah! Forgive me my sin.”-

Allah said: “My servant committed a sin, but knew that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes sins.”-

Then he committed the sin again and said: “My Lord! Forgive me my sin.”-

Allah said: “My servant committed a sin, but knew that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes sins.”-

Then he committed the sin again and said: “My Lord! Forgive me my sin.”

Allah said: “My servant committed a sin, but knew that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes sins. Do as you will, for I have forgiven you.”

[Sahīh al-Bukhārī-(7507) and-Sahīh Muslim-(2758)]

We understand from this hadīth that when Allah forgives a sin, it is forgiven. If the person commits the same sin again, Allah will not revoke His forgiveness for the previous time the sin was committed, but will only hold the sinner to account for the present occurrence. Forgiveness is something Allah gives, and He does not revoke what He gives. Once a sin is wiped from our records, it is wiped away for good.-

Why don’t we Smile?
Why do we save our smiles when our Role model Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) used to smile the most? We see that people who are religious tend to have serious faces , they hardly smile. I’ve heard people relating the incidents of lives of saints who didn’t smile their whole life. Let us change this concept. Ideal for us is the Life of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). Islam does not stop us from smiling in fact it encourages. It gives us reasons to
smile. So beautify your faces with a smile. The smallest distance between two people is smile.
What does it take to Smile?
We hardly have to move a muscle to smile but the effect a smile has is tremendous. It can win the hearts. It can take care of very tense situations. Smile begets smile. Smile, and the world will smile back at you. Smile at the nature and the nature will smile back at you. Smile is a good way to express your pleasure. Actions speak louder than words. How often you find it so hard to express your Love for some, your pleasure on some happening. A smile would do just the thing.

Question :
What are description of the people of paradise and some of the delights they enjoy therein?
Answer :
The people of Paradise will enter in the most perfect and beautiful form, in the image of their father, Aadam (as), for there is no human form more perfect and beautiful than that of Aadam, whom Allah (swt) created very tall. He was as tall as a great palm tree, sixty cubits tall. Muslim reports from Abu Hurayrah (ra) that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said,-“Allah, Subhaanahu wa ta'aala, created Aadam in his own image, sixty cubits tall… everyone who enters Paradise will be in the image of Aadam, sixty cubits tall. People kept getting shorter and shorter after the time of Aadam.”[Saheeh Muslim, Kitaab al-Jannah]
Their external appearance will be in harmony, and their hearts will be as one. Their hearts and souls will be clean and pure. Muslim reports from Abu Hurayrah (ra) a hadith in which the Prophet describes people entering Paradise including a group whose light will be like the full moon. He (saw) said,-“Their form will be that of a single person, after the image of their father Aadam, sixty cubits tall.”-[Saheeh Muslim, Kitaab al-Jannah]
Another aspect of their beauty is that they will have no body hair, and will look as if their eyes are anointed with kohl. Each of them will enter Paradise aged thirty-three, the age of strength, vitality and youth. Ahmad and at-Tirmidhi report from Mu'aadh ibn Jabal that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said,-“The people of Paradise will enter Paradise hairless, looking as if their eyes are ringed with kohl, aged thirty three.”-[Saheeh al-Jaami’ 6/337, no. 7928]
As reported in the hadith narrated by Bukhaari and Muslim, from Abu Hurayrah (ra), the people of Paradise-“will not spit, blow their noses or excrete”.
The people of Paradise will not sleep. Jaabir ibn ‘Abdullaah and ‘Abdullaah ibn Abi Awfaa reported that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said,-“Sleep is the brother of death; the people of Paradise will not sleep”-[Silsilat al-Hadith as-Saheehah, 3/74, no. 1087, al-Kaamil of Ibn 'Adiyy, al-Hilyah of Abu Na'eem, Taareekh Isbahaan, by Abul-Sheikh]

“Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, a show and boasting among yourselves, a quest for greater riches and more children. Its similitude is that of vegetation that flourish after rain: the growth of which delights the tillers, then it withers and you see it turn yellow, soon it becomes dry and crumbles away. In the hereafter there will be either severe punishment or forgiveness from Allah and His good pleasure. The life of this world is nothing but an illusion.” Al-Quran [al-Hadiid - 57:20]
Man wastes his lifetime running after something which has no effect on anything except that he ruins his hereafter. A believer is he who believes that nothing can happen without the Will of Allahu ta'ala. Therefore, his objective becomes to gain Allah’s pleasure and not to run after this Dunya (World). No material possession can benefit or harm anyone if it is not desired by Allah.

You owe the coffee to the Muslims - www.lionofAllah.com
Who doesn’t love coffee? Coffee fuels the modern world and we have the Muslims to thank for it. Before becoming the name of a chocolate latte, “Mocha” was a city in Yemen where coffee beans were first brewed into the beverage we depend on today. From there, the drink spread throughout the world, but its introduction to the West was difficult. The fear of “creeping sharia” is nothing new; there were calls to ban the “Muslim drink” in Europe. It wasn’t until 1600 that Pope Clement VIII allowed it upon tasting the “the bitter invention of Satan” for himself.
But the story doesn’t end there. Before coffee, the drink of Europe was beer. In fact, they would start their day with “beer soup” and continue to drink beer throughout the day. Their primary hangout was the tavern where people got together, got drunk, and passed out. But with the introduction of coffee, the hangout became the coffeehouse where people got together, got hyper, and talked… a lot. Instead of drunken rambling, now people were holding intelligent conversations. It was in the coffeehouse where people like Voltaire and Rousseau would discuss ideas that led to the Enlightenment of Europe. It was in the coffeehouse that the modern encyclopedia was born. Later, it was in the coffeehouse where Paul Revere and John Adams planned the American Revolution.
The coffeehouse pulled Europe out of the Dark Ages and into the Enlightenment. Today, we Muslims find ourselves coming out of our Dark Ages. We recently struggled out from under the heel of colonialism and are now trying to find our way through circumstances never experienced before, especially here in the West. We need venues like the coffeehouses of Europe where Muslims can get together, hold intelligent conversations, and come up with innovative ideas to help our communities overcome the unique challenges we face.

Ramadan is less than a week away, whats our preparation for it? The blessed 30 days of Mercy from Allah (SWT) are on the way, how are we going to spend it? The Sahabas prepared for it 6 months in advance, whats our preparation? Are the list of Dua’s ready? The things to do list? How to productively spend each day?
Are we waiting for the eve of Ramadan to begin something of the sort? Let’s remind ourselves that this may be the last Ramadan for many of us so let’s spend it wisely and clear our logbooks and better our relationships with our Creator Insha'Allah.

While you are reading this phrase in the different parts of the world, with different reasons millions of people have died already.
And if you were to ask these people minutes before their death, none of them might have known that they would die in the next few minutes.
Whereas you who’s reading this article or me who’s writing this article, we might be living our last few minutes in this world; that maybe these are our last minutes on the earth to repent and to be closer to Allah.
If not today, one day we all will certainly die. Me, you, people we know and people we love will also die. After 100 years from now, no one we know today will be on earth.
People wake up every morning making plans upon plans upon plans for their lives not including death.
Even though most of these plans might never occur, death will certainly occur.
Death is a door that all of us will have to enter, no age limits no racial discrimination, all same and equal, everyone created from one same and single matter.
So return to your Lord, with a heart full of repentance for that is better for you.

One Whole Year of Fasting! Subhan'Allah
Scholars have explained that it is like observing a year of fasting because the reward of one’s good deeds are multiplied tenfold.
Therefore fasting the month of Ramadan is like fasting for ten months and fasting six days in the month of Shawwâl is like fasting for two months since each day will be rewarded was 10 days.
It is related from Thawbân that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“The fast of Ramadan is like observing ten months of fasting. Fasting six days of Shawwâl is like observing two months of fasting. This together is like fasting throughout the year.” (Sunan al-Nasâ'î)

Things we were into few days ago..
1) Fasting the longest and hottest days of the year which brought another unique challenge of reduced sleep time.
2) Praying a staggering 40 units of Ṣalāh, which increased to nearly 50 in the last ten. That is the total of all the obligatory, highly recommended and night prayers in a day.
3) Consistently reading around 20 pages of Qur’ān or even more a day to finish it within the month.
4) Conscientiously holding back on the impulse to sin and misbehave.
These are just some of the achievements we were making just a few days ago.
We were not given new bodies, new abilities or new lives.
That was us then and our memories of it should act as a mirror showing us what we can be outside of Ramadān.
Ponder.
Reflect.

If the servant knows that misfortune can produce a desirable thing, and that the desirable thing can produce a misfortune, he would not feel secure against the harm that can come from delight, and he would not lose hope of delight to come from harm, for he does not know the outcomes of things. Lets get back to Islam, before the sun goes down,
We never know when we’ll be under the mound.“I’ll pray when I get older,” That’s what they say,

But we might not have even one more day! Lets get back to Islam, before its too late,

“Aw man, can’t I just delay it for another date? “Times running out, our lives are almost done,
"But brother, I’m too busy having fun ."Lets get back to Islam, Jahannam ain’t funny,

"Come on man, I’m to busy making money!” The Quran sits on our shelves and there it picks up dust,
The longer we stay away from it, the more our hearts pick up rust. Lets get back to Islam, before our lives our gone,
“Not right now, I’m too busy, can’t you see I have the TV on! "There’s no time to waste, lets start it now,

come on, for Allah can’t you even bow? Lets get back to Islam, this ain’t just a song,
"But brother, a few minutes in prayer, that’s too long!” “I’ll go on hajj when I’m around fifty-five,”

Come on man, by then will you even be alive?Lets get back to Islam, lets not waist another day,

“Aw Masood, leave me alone, I just wanna play."Lets turn back to Allah before we turn to dust,
There’s no delaying, bro this is a must! Lets get back to Islam, for real, not just with our lips,

Oh Allah make us sincere, so we don’t feel Jahannam’s whips."I think I’ll get pious when my hair turns gray.”

Come on man, don’t wait, we may die any day.Lets get back to Islam, this ain’t just another rap,

Its a race to Jannah, and Islam’s the only map.

And never say of anything, “Indeed, I will do that tomorrow,”
Except [when adding], “If Allah wills.” And remember your Lord when you forget [it] and say, “Perhaps my Lord will guide me to what is nearer than this to right conduct.”
Surah Kahf | Verses 23-24

ar-Razzâq
The Provider, The Providence, The Supplier, The Bestower of Sustenance
The One who creates all means of nourishment and subsistence. The One who is the giver of all things beneficial, both physical and spiritual. The One who provides everything that is needed.
The One who causes the means of subsistence to come. The One who bestows all means of support and growth, for the body, the mind and the spiritual life.

From the root r-z-q which has the following classical Arabic connotations:
to receive something beneficial, especially as a gift
to be provided with the necessities of life
to receive a portion, share or lot
to be supplied with a means of subsistence
This name is used in the Qur'ân. For example, see 51:58
The root r-z-q points to the idea of the receiving of anything beneficial, particularly a gift, whereby something is nourished, sustained, or helped to grow physically, mentally or spiritually.
(Also written as al-razzaq, ar-razzaq, al-razaq, ar-razaq, al-razzaaq, ar-razzaaq, the Provider: ya razzaq, ya razzaaq)

Before Islam, the tribes of Arabia were notorious for their corruption and depravity: they buried female infants for the fear of false shame; they fought with each other over small things; after the death of their fathers, they took their mothers as their property and made them their own wives; they kicked the women out of their homes, when they did not need them, without even a formal divorce; they dishonored and oppressed women; and no crime was too small for them.
In that society that we call Jahiliyah, or society of ignorance, Islam came as a beacon to lead them out of the darkness to a new future. In the course of a few decades, these very people became the harbingers of knowledge and civilization to many other people in the world. Islamic civilization helped to revive, rejuvenate and enrich other civilizations. Internal decline and colonial intervention greatly impaired this civilization. It was a culture of civilized co-existence and not a culture of clash or coercion.
Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, came to remove the prevalent corruption that was rampant before his message. The Qur’an that was revealed to him is ‘a glad tidings as well as a warner’ that is meant to guide people and show them the right path. The Our’an reminds us of nations who were destroyed because they had rebelled, spread corruption and disobeyed. It also gives us a glimpse of the life in Hereafter of people who do good and who love and obey Alah. In the scheme of divine revelation, the past, present and the future are one continuum.
In Islam, service to humanity is a function of their duty towards Allah. The Qur’an says: “And from among you there must be a society, community or party that should invite people to all that is good and enjoin the doing of all that is right and forbid the doing of all that is wrong.” (Aal-`Imran :104)
