Few points on the Ulama

Few points from Sheikul Hadith Molana Fadhlur Rahman Al 'Azami ulama bayan before Esha.

Ulama are like the head of a body to the ummah, the virtue of an alim to a normal person is like nabi (saw) to a general person, every generation had ulama, to stop the people from distorting deen, the ulama have a great responsibility by attaining this knowledge, to establish the deen is upon the ulama, so we have that belief in what we learnt, Is out Salaah up to scratch, or tilaawat etc, we should always keep an eye on our weaknesses and rectify them, biggest test is the 5 daily prayers, what is our condition?

Imam abu yusuf used to read 200 rakats every night, by gaining knowledge, you should get interest in following the sunnah, whatever Allah has commanded us to do, that is the demand for us to fulfill, as ulama, we are the inheritors of all the prophets, they take from Allah and portray to the people, we should do likewise, a person should place himself in a deeni environment, qiyamat time, you will be asked regarding your actions according to your status.
