Salaam dear brothers ,
Could u recommend me any dua or narrate an incident that could really lift my spirts, the problem is that I keep thinking of my past where I was so care free and was much happier , and can't seem to stop thinking about it , I have thoughts of missed opportunities and regrets which worsen my mental state,

Assalamualaikum dear brother.
Don't regret :) rather accept what's been decreed for you. Allah is the most high and knows what's best for us, whether we know it or not
This will cheer you up (turn on CC)

br . don't be frustrated . We all have many problems . But
despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
(سورة الزمر, Az-Zumar, Chapter #39, Verse #53)

You cannot back to yesterday to grab the missed opportunities. But you still have today to build new opportunities for the better tomorrow.

Greetings and peace be with you mr2299muslim;
Some time ago, I spent a couple of hours with a man who had been homeless for about five years, he had also suffered depression. But, he did say that every night when he finds somewhere to sleep, he finds several things to thank God for, food for the day, somewhere to wash, meeting a kind person, a place to sleep, the simple things in life we take for granted.
Here was a man who carried his home in a bag, and he still found ways to be grateful, it was a truly humbling experience meeting him.
In the spirit of praying for hope in our life, and giving thanks.

Life is beautiful. Don't spoil it for the sake of past. Past is dead and dead is buried at the earliest. See ahead, much better opportunities are before you. Keep on doing dua as well. May Allah swt succeed you. Ameen
