*Eye opening story*

There was a Sheikh who was teaching his students Aqeedah (faith), He Taught them laa ilaaha illallaah Mohammado Rasulullah Sallallaahu' Alayhi Wasallam and explain to them, educated them just like how the Messenger of Allaah taught his companions faith and planted it within themselves.

The Sheikh loved breeding birds, cats so he was given a parrot by one of the students as a gift, As days passed the Sheikh started to love the parrot, And he use to take him in his lessons, Until the parrot knew how to say laa ilaaha illallaah Mohammado Rasulullah Sallallaahu' Alayhi Wasallam, He use to utter it night and day.

One day the students found their sheikh crying. When they asked him why he was so sad, he told them, the cat attacked the parrot and killed it. They asked him is this the reason your crying ? If you wish we will bring another better then it ..The Sheikh said i am not crying because of this ... But it made me cry when the cat attacked the parrot. It was shouting and screaming until it died. He use to say laa ilaaha illallaah Mohammado Rasulullah Sallallaahu' Alayhi Wasallam alot, However, when he was attacked by a cat he forgot. He said nothing, but screamed, Because he said it with his tongue only and his heart did not learn it so it didn't feel it!

Then Sheikh said: "I am afraid to be like this parrot, We live our lives repeating laa ilaaha illallaah Mohammado Rasulullah Sallallaahu' Alayhi Wasallam, with our tongues, But when death comes we forget, And we don't remember it, Because our hearts did not know it, So he took his students and they started crying in fear of lack of honesty in laa ilaaha illallaah Mohammado Rasulullah Sallallaahu' Alayhi Wasallam.

And We??? .... have we learned "laa ilaaha illallaah Mohammado Rasulullah Sallallaahu ' Alayhi Wasallam", with our hearts???

You know one way you can identify whether your heart is connected with the shahada is by observing your behaviour when you are 'alone' and observing your behaviour in general.

If you think about Allah swt in your daily life and observe the five prayers and everything else which has been commanded then this is one visible sign of the shahada being in your heart.

& of course Allah swt knows best.

May emaan enter our hearts & be strengthened Ameen.
