View Full Version : A telephone conversation with Pluto

During the last phone call which you made, the conversation was being transferred at a speed of 300 thousand km per second. This is the speed of light, a speed which allows your voice to travel around the world 7.4 times in a single second!

If your telephone conversation was with someone on the moon, it would take 1.3 seconds for your voice to reach his ears.

If your telephone conversation was with someone on Mars, it would take 4 minutes to reach him and another four minutes to receive a response. So, 8 minutes to hear “wa alaikum asalaam”

If your telephone conversation was with someone riding a space shuttle near Jupiter, you will have to wait for 64 minutes to receive a response.

If your telephone conversation was with someone riding a space shuttle near Pluto, you will have to wait around 8 hours for a response.

If your telephone conversation was with someone near Sirius - the brightest star in our night sky - you will receive “wa alaikum asalaam” after around 16 years.

If your telephone conversation was with someone near the Antares star, the response would arrive after 1200 years!

If your telephone conversation was with someone located near the *nearest* galaxy to planet earth, the response would arrive after 4 million years!

If your telephone conversation was with someone who was located at the *edge* of the universe (i.e. the observable universe!), the response would arrive after 312 billion years!!

Notice, we are talking about the *fastest* speed known to man, the speed of light, yet ponder over these huge time delays!

What is breath-taking and mind-boggling however is that despite Allah being beyond the universe, beyond the seven heavens and above His Majestic Throne ..

.. there isn’t a delay of even a fraction of a second in Allah’s hearing and seeing of His creation!#

Thus our mother ‘Aisha once said about a lady – Khawla bint Tha’laba - who came to the Prophet PBUH to complain about her husband,

{ قَدْ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ قَوْلَ الَّتِي تُجَادِلُكَ فِي زَوْجِهَا }
"Glory be to the One who hears all things!! The lady who pleaded with the Prophet PBUH was in our house speaking to him yet I was barely able to hear their conversation. Then Allah revealed:

"Allah has *certainly* heard the speech of she who pleads with you, [O Muhammad], concerning her husband .." (Al-Qur'an)

There is no muffling, no distortions and no delay in the hearing of Allah.

What is the fruit of realising this?

= A sense of *overwhelming* shyness to be seen by Him crossing the line, whilst knowing that He sees and hears so clearly..

This is the purpose of this time of contemplation.

:jz: great read.

Subhan Allah take a look at this image. How massive is the universe, how insignificant are we?

35. Were they created out of nothing? Or were they themselves the creators?

36. Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing!

(Qur'an 52:35-36)

After reading this I am surely aware of being with the wrong network provider..

Probably that guy from phonejacker.

It's a Micky mouse production.. Probably.

Time to go x directory.. No more cold calling.

Every time I watch middle eastern news, when the anchor brings someone on the telephone for a conversation, they will continually yell over each other because there's like a 10 second delay between them. It's funny but it's also a headache at the same time. Maybe they need to upgrade their technology
