First you must try to understand the verses of the Holy Quraan through a good tafseer. Then it will be easy to understand and memorize hadeeth insha-Allah.

Assalamualykum.
That is an excellent intention.
1. Take hadeeth from authentic sources.
2. Begin with the shorter hadeeth.
3. Not compulsory but etiquette, sit with wudhu facing Qibla.
4. Abandon all type of sin.
5. Memorize when your mind is fresh, after Fajr for example.
If the above is practiced Insha Allah in a short amount of time much will be achieved.
Jazakallah khair

I found a paid one, teaches over Skype. Free ones are hard to find :O.
Best option is a real life teacher, face to face :).
